For example, my 4500+ lb Tahoe with a 5.7L V8 has the 4L60E transmission. Say, the Impala (don't have one, just an example)weighs 3500~ lb with a 3.8L V6. Transmission? 4L60E. The gear ratios vary slightly because the Tahoe has more mass to move then again the difference in horsepower probably makes up for it. Nonetheless, the gear ratios will vary a little bit, but it's the same tranny.
