Tranny fluid question
I was low on fluid last week and added 1/4 quart of dexron III. Should I now flush and fill or just replace and fill? I have an 03 tl with 30K miles
Thanks much!

if you have 30K miles and never changed your tranny fluid, it is porbably a good idea to do so.
Make sure you use Honda fluid. Given all the tranny problems and warranty issues, I'd recommend sticking with Honda fluid and keeping all the receits.
btw, I don't think 1/4 qt. of dextron is significunt to cause a problem.

4.99-5.99 a quart is the price at most acura dealers. I honestly don't think Honda Z1ATF is very good tranny fluid. I am seriously considering trying either Redline ATF or BG Syn ATF, both are very reputable companies and claim their fluid is far superior to anything else out there. I have a 99 with the 4spd and believe that the greater oxidation, anti-corrosion and great fluid viscosity range would benefit the 4 spd tranny a great deal. Has anyone used either of these fluids and what was your experience.

i have a long commute to work each day 35 miles one way, when I get home I check my tranny fluid and oil once a week. When I was checking my tranny fluid in dec., jan, feb, march it was always clean because I did a drain and fill in dec., but in april it was a little dirty, may it had some metalic color and extremely fine flakes, now in june it has gotten progressively worse. I did a drain and fill with 3x w/9qrts of Z1 in dec. BTW. I have been thinking strongly about changing to a different tranny fluid. I am looking for someone here that has used or is using either Redline ATF or BG Syn ATF to see if they noticed any difference after they switched. I don't expect a miracle but the 2 companies I named are very reputable and I tend to believe their claims over those of others, of course I could be wrong and their ATF's may be junk, but I doubt it.

Yeah - Dodge and Jeep RWD models are all checked in neutral, many GM derivative (4L-30) trannys and all BMW 5->7 series (and land rovers) {ZF units} are all checked under the vehicle (no dipstick).
There's always a twist...
