For $60, I can save myself over an hour's worth of headache and then I'd have to get rid of the old tranny oil. Plus I can save myself a trip to the Acura/Honda parts people. Not to mention that I dont have any way to jack my car up (I'd have to find someone who has a way to lift the car up)...and I wont have to burn my hands. $60 sounds pretty cheap (especially if they change the tranny fluid 3 times)...

Does anyone know if Acura dealers will actually change the tranny fluid 3 times?

BTW- since the tranny will go bad, why do all the tranny fluid changes? And the owners manual says 100,000 miles... Just curious

Yeah, there should be just enough room not to jack it up. I jacked it up a tiny bit. I paid acura before to do a "flush" and the bastards just did a drain and fill 3 quarts and it cost $70. If I only knew before hand, I could of spent it on something better.

yup. if you need a littel extra room you can use the factory jack to raise it up a few more inches. since you dont need the tires off the ground and your not under it its safe

Hmmm...that's different then. It's a bummer that Acura wont do it correctly. ;-(

I read in a few earlier posts that your car needed to be level and that's why I figured it shouldn't be up on a single jack.

I see that everyone is against doing a flush because Acura told them so.

I did a flush 60Ks ago, my tranny oil only started to go like 5Ks ago. After the flush, I had beautiful 8 qts of Pink oil. Ill be doing a flush again this week. Its worth it, and it definitely works.

alright, my mechanic said that this time i should go to Acura, my tranny slightly jerks when going from 2nd to 3rd, and sometimes from 3rd to 4th.

so basically ill be going to a dealership, anyone know how much they charge for a tranny oil change? I'll also bug them about the damn oil jet kit they installed; that its not doing anything.

Also, at the dealership, they replace full 8 quarts or only the 3?

If the transmission is locked, then how can the flush clean out the other 5-6 quarts of tranny fluid anyways? Unless the flush somehow can turn the tranny?

I made that mistake, I asked for a tranny flush. They charged me $75... I thought that would be good, if they did it like 3 times but unfortunately they only did a drain and fill and called that a flush. BASTARDS!!! Fucking Valleystream.

yeah, that a regular drain and fill, one timer.

The flush they said something about 12 quarts is used, and basically in between you have to drive the car to get the tranny moving.

im doing basic drain and fill tomorrow for 70 bux at Paragon, i cant stand plaza no more.

I think I should do a flush, right? but how do I warn them about the damn oil jet kit?
