my tranny went out this past weekend... having a new one put in... not sure what to expect
how true is the source that acura is putting in a new ECU that'll drop power output?
my assumption was that since they're dropping in a new tranny.. that most likely our current existing ECU would have to be reset.. thus losing valuable information...
japanese ECU's are relatively smart and can figure out optimal power output my caluculating your driving conditions / styles...
by re-setting it, you lose all the statistics that the little guy has been collecting all along...
as for the tranny...
from what ive heard... honda/acura made no efforts into redesigning / reinforcing the CL/TL 5-spd auto transmission... in otherwords... the new one that we're getting installed will be another hit and miss game...
but then today when i called the dealership and spoke to the mechanic... they said that acura had strengthened the tranny...
so i don't know who to believe now...
as for a new ride... well... im considering either an old E36 M3 (which still costs bank...)... or just getting a civic si hatch as a beater...
just really don't want to worry about cars for now

Hmm...You could buy a Toyota Echo for like $12g's. Won't cost squat, is the most reliable make of vehicle on the market and you probably would never even have to change the oil for 100,000 miles...How's that for ending your worries?
Buying a used Bimmer is like throwing money at me. I'll give you my address if you PM me and you could throw a couple of g's over my way!!!
