03 TL-S w/ 6000 Miles, and I need a new tranny

6000 miles on my 03 TL-S and my transmission is going out. Between the transmission, warped rotors, and a faulty volume control on the steering wheel, this is the least reliable car I have owned. That includes Chevy, Mercedes, GMC, Ford, Toyota and Dodge. Hopefully after everything is fixed, my car will give me better performance during the next 30k miles. If not, there's no doubt that I'll be heading for a more reliable vehicle at lease end.

Dammm man! I just got an 03 TLS day before yesterday and im starting to see a lot of post like urs but I thought it was mostly the 02 TLS that had the tranny probs. Im kind of scared to hear this happeneing especially because I just traded in a 99 accord because of tranny probs at 45k miles and wasn't covered by any warranties or recalls for this TLS. Maybe wrong move!! Someone told me that 03's TLS manufactured after a certain date were fixed of the tranny probs. Im just praying I dont find myself in the same situation.

Question How did u drive ur car for the first 6k miles? Were you hard on it?

Regardless ..im sorry to hear this.

that's the problem that "someone" tells people that the problem is fixed, yet I have not seen an official statement from Honda stating what they have found and how they have fixed it.

My '02 tranny went out at 6,100 miles by the way.

what month was your TL built? I just bought mine and it was made in April 03. I hope that Acura fixed the tranny by then?
Anyone have an idea?

I'm not sure of the build month, but I bought mine in January 03. I haven't abused it and don't race it. This is by far the slowest car/truck that I have owned (for myself, the wife gets slower cars), so I don't race around in my TL-S because to me it's dog slow.

I don't manually shift it and since I haven't even hit the first factory service interval, I haven't neglected maintenance. It's a little scary to have a car that you're afraid to put your family in. I can honestly say that no other car I've owned has made me tell my wife that she can't drive it because the car is unsafe. I have told her that about other things I have owned that were too powerful for her, but never for a safety issue.
