Trading my TL in for a 2000 RL

Should I do it? My car + $9,000 to drive a brand new 2000 RL leftover. I noticed Gomez's post and went down to my dealer, I haven't made a final decision yet but I am thinking about it. My car has 22,000 miles w/ clear title. I'm only 24 years old, that car would be sweeeeeet! This board's opinions really matter to me so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorta 50/50 right now. Oh yeah, I don't want the TL-S at all!! Thanks fellas.

Hey platinum,
I think you should go for it. If you think the price is fair (hell, haggle with 'em some more. get free service or oil changes or something.), and they are giving you a good trade amount, do it. I wanted to get one myself, because of the extra room. The only thing stopping me is the new house I am building. The RL is a much sweeter ride.

yeah the RL is a really sweet ride.. comfortable too... but then you said you were 24 (i'm 22), i always thought that the RL was for a more "mature" owner.. i dunno.. that plus its got less HP than the TL...plus not much aftermarket parts.. personally, if i had your choice to make.. i'd wait for the TL-S
You can guess my opinion - go for it!
It will set you apart from the crowd, and I think they look especially good in silver or black.
It's all the little touches inside that make the car cool. Notice how the handle inside the door where you close it is padded? Stuff like that makes it really nice.
My fave is the silver RL, which looks almost German. With a light grey tint it would be da bomb!
Not to mention, it is a much smoother and quieter ride. Get it!

I say go for it. Others here will probably tell you otherwise, but you can let people think you spent $42K on your car, not around $30K.
The RL just feels more solid. PLUS, it's built in JAPAN! That's always good! Uhhh what else.....really nice tranny, yes 4-speed, but nice. Roomier back seat
It just feels more like a luxury car, plus I think the rear view mirrors are cool.

my old man has an RL and its worth every penny. I say go for it too! We had an 96 RL and had no problems with it, and now we have a 2000 RL and its still perfect, great part about it, that not every single person has one on the road.

Yeah. RL is nice but what are you going to do with all the mods you did to TL!? Who's in the line for the used parts off of Platinum!?

I didn't care for the RL a whole lot. It looks pretty nice from the outside, but the interior doesn't seem as nice as the TL's. Electric seats seem to be afterthoughtsin the RL. I could not adjust my seat without having the door left open. My hand just would not fit in. It didn't have an in dash cd player either, even though this is the top of the line Acura. To me it seems like the last of the Legends were put together more nicely inside and out. It looked and felt like an expensive car, and had the performance to match. But that's just my opinion...
