Traded my 2002 CL Type S for 2003 TL Type S

Had some troubles with the "Premium options" on my 2002 CL Type S, so after 3 mos. and 10 days I traded it for 2003 TL Type S and it's the best thing I could've done. I was lucky to work with such a great dealership (Bloomington Acura in Minnesota), anyway I'm new to this forum, and I love it here. You guys have some great looking vehicles...

how does trading in cars work? how much do you stand to lose if you trade in .. say.. a year old 2002 TL for a 2003TL... beside the normal depreciation

now what do you mean by the "Premium options" do you mean that you actually got an CL-P instead of the type S?

Yeah - Bloomington Acura has the BEST service department I've ever been to, at least in terms of good folks and nice provisions for waiting.

Hope you didn't get an ABP!

I second that notion, picked up my 2003 TL-S non navi on the 18th, it had 2 dents in it, so they gave to the same car with the nav system at no charge!

If you mind me asking, what did they give you on trade? I have also been considering this route... Thanks.

My situation was somewhat odd. I aim my external mirrors at my blind spots. I would get them aimed out as far as the mirror would go and then 3 clicks in from that point. I could save it to memory, but each time the car would back up and then go forward, the mirror would not go back to it's saved position. It took me a couple days to figure this out. I almost had a couple of accidents. It works on the MDX and one of the loaner TLs that I had, but it didn't work on the CL. The Manual says it does work. Besides the mirror, I was locked IN my car twice. The seats would not go back to their previous position. The stereo buttons on the steering wheel would skip over my preset stations (from time to time), there was a rattle coming from the passenger side in the front of the car and the side air bag off light would come on at odd times. I had a very dificult time showing these 'anomolies' to the techs. I had witnesses, but was not able to reproduce them in real-time. Acura said there was nothing wrong because I could not re-produce these 'anomolies'. Bloomington Acura knew that I had leased 3 Accords prior to that and I was potentially a loyal customer, so they did everything they could for me. As of now, these guys are my dealer of choice.

I have all those same issues except the rattle and radio. The air bag part is normal, if someone sits wrong in the passenger seat it will turn off the air bag so it won't hurt them if it goes off.

They are replacing my side mirror, it has a problem after returning it goes all the way up and pops....instead of stop where it was. lol.....

I bought mine from Bloomington a month or so ago. What color did you get? Please don't tell me you got a White Diamond Pearl. I see too many of those here. I should have gotten a different color. And I should have gotten the Navi. And I should have financed the Body Kit and Spoiler. Uf Dah. I shoulda married me a rich man.

So far my only mods are the rear deck spoiler and the window tint. I started installing some Dynamat in my trunk. The floors and doors are next. I think I'll throw in some new speakers while I have to doors apart.
