Of course my stock TL-S doenst have a chance against this car but what do i have to do have a good race with one.. I ask because i was driving to my girls house tonite and some supra was like tailgating me from behind as i made the turn and then he switch lanes to then speed off but as he did he looked at me hard knowing he would beat me wit ease.. which i knew but need some advice.. Im not asking to be faster than a Supra cause i know i can just get another car but im just wondering ......

yea right, only if its a non turbo. the supra is the king of street racing, especially if you are rolling when racing, there isnt much that will touch a supra in a street race

Um, I don't think so, atleast not stock for stock. The best time I've seen for a Supra Turbo from a major magazine, i.e., Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, is 5 flat. An M3 can go 0-60 in 4.7/4.8, depending on which source you use. It'd be a close race, but an M3 should have the edge.

They didn't race from a stop. From a roll the Beemer would get pulled on. 1/4 mi times are close, But look at the MPH you'll see the Supra has the edge

Do you have any knowledge of cars at all? First of all, your attempt to mask your lacking of a vocabulary by using expletives is a little pathetic. Secondly, where did you come up with Supra Turbo getting 307 hp? It has 320 hp at the crank. And what the hell does
2+2 refer, the existence of its back seat?

An M3 has 333 hp at the crank and posts a better 1/4 mile time and trap speed - 13.4@106mph versus 13.7@105mph for the Supra(Car & Driver). I wanted to compare 5-60 times, but couldn't find them.

It would be a close race, neither car "would eat the other for supper," nor would it "rape" the other! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Supra Turbo as well - would love to have one.

BTW - sorry for getting off on this tangent - - just trying to set some people straight.

Supras are one of those cars that are gods in our books. Too bad they don't sell them here anymore.

This is one of the Japanese Icon cars that we all love. And I would hunting for vettes, M3's, etc if I had a Tubro Supra...no fear !

Long live the king!

I've seen Supras dyno higher than 900, some over 1000, its sick what you can do to that thing. And my Uncle and Aunt have an 87 Grand National that they show, its in perfect condition. Didn't know it was a super-fast car. Knew it was fast, just not Supra fast.

Not totally sure what the price of the supra was new. But I know for a TT now your looking at anywhere between 25-35 grand for one. Even more depending on which year and condition. And if the Supra TT is totally stock your going to pay more. Its because there rare.

my friend came across a mint TT Supra with 13,000 miles on it in Pennsyvania about 2 years ago now and they told him the only way they would sell it to him is if he traded in his 2002 TLS with 5,000 miles on it AND his Nissan 300ZX TT with 5,000 miles on it. so more or less that takes it to like $40,000 for that particular car. alot of money

FAT chance we’ll ever see car like that Supra from Toyota. I think only bean counters run that company now. There must have been enthusiasts that made the Supra up within Toyota.

The Skyline is the king of street racing, infact, any of those old school imports would blow eachother away if u have the money. My friends dad put nearly 8k into his 300ZX and hoollllllyyyyy crap. I believe he said he raced a 360 Modena and beat it and i can vouchee for that. You literally get molded into the seats when its being floored, not to mention it sounds F'ING nice. Best thing is, its complete sleeper except for the nice ass exhaust...and crazy sound.

Wells if the supra was stock..it will spank you by a little after all the mods we have...because the supra has around 400whp ranging for bpu(+)...I know because my uncle had one...and it was BPU...but if you are talking about stock (TT)...and if you get a Supercharger and all the other goodies that a TL-S has...you will come close to a stock. The stock Supras come in mid 13's...we get that when we have a S/C...But dont forget...supras are rarely stock for TT. You got to also admit...a Supra is the King of Highways...as well as the muscle car for japanese. It's either a skyline or a Supra...and our car is a Sedan...not even a S2000 can keep up wit a supra..despite all the Turbo-Charge or Supercharge the S2000 offers. So just don't even bother racing...because either way...it won't be a close match.

Let me help here.
Stock Supra has 225hp 2JZ engine. 0-60 in high 6s. A TL-S can beat a stock supra.

Stock Supra turbo makes 320hp with a TT. Lowest 0-60 I've seen is 4.8 in a magazine.

Now honestly, most Supra turbos are not stock. People are buying 10 year old Supras for the same price as a new one. They were made from 1994-1998.
You have
Supra TT BPU which means basic performance upgrades. For about $2000, no shit, you can have your TT Supra do anywhere from 380-410 to the wheels. So that is about 450-480hp to the crank.

For those that REALLY are in the know, it's all about getting rid of the twins and putting ONE HUGE TURBO the size of our head in the car.

From there 600hp is a walk in the park and 1,000hp is within reach and depends on how fat your pockets at that point.

THen the engine does not leak oil, no bad compression, we are talking stock block here, reliable daily driver.

The kings would be the R34 GT-R and Supra for sheer power and acceleration. IMO, the NSX ownsz them both handling wise (I think this is universally accepted). The NSX-R is one of the greatest handling cars of ALL TIME. No shit.

And as someone stated, DO NOT EVER think of racing a Supra from a roll or any 2JZ equipped car with a single turbo.
