touch up paint sux
i have few deep scratches on my bumper...i can see the black plastic
also have some large chip on the hood. so i went out to Acura dealer and bought a vial of touch up paint for my SSM TL-S
and let me tell you it sux @ss... i've tried putting 3 coats waiting 15minutes in between coats...but i can still see the black bumper...so i put more but the area just gets thicker and thicker with touch up paint and looks real messy. i can't see the black bumper anymore but the color is way off...dark metalic silver now...
anyone have any bad experience with acura touch up paints?

That should not happen!
I'd definitely take it back to the dealer and get some new paint. If you want, the dealership should have a guy who comes in once a week to handle that kind of thing. We have one at mine who charges about $75 (for up to 3 different spots). By the way, that's a great color!
touch up paint suck ass. i have white diamond pearl and i touched up a few places and used masking tape to guide me so that i wont get any on the unessary parts but then i take it off the damn paint comes off with the tape. the paint comes off like rubber cement. it doesnt bond to the car.

BlueXTC,
I have the exact same problem! Got rearended and have a couple scratches that go down to the black. I thought I'd live with it and just use touchup paint, but it actually looks better black! I'm thinking about putting down a coat of solid silver, or white first to lighten it up. Seems like SSM does not match well with the factory paint...

WDP is a very hard color to touch up. it's so light and thin, it's hard to hide the dark steel underneath. I had to put about 12 Very Very light coats to touch up a rock chip on the pass rear wheel well. Should add that the coats were spaced at 30-45 min stages. (studying for finals, it's easy to stay home all day!)
Good luck!
Good luck!
I agree. The touch up paint for SSM blows. Somebody pried off my Type S emblem a couple of days ago and left me a gift (2 inch vertical scratch down to the metal). So I used the factory touch up paint on the spot. After a few coats, I don't see the metal anymore but is left with a darker color (close the grey) line. Looks like some bird pooped on there.

Don't forget to shake it and warm it up before you use the paint. Dip it in warm/hot water (not boiling) for about 5-10 minutes, shake, and apply. The paint molecules to spread out further and bond to the surface more effectively.
