Red face Torquey Caddy

I was on the highway today and I was fumbling around with some CDs and I noticed a black Caddy on my tail. We were going around 80-85. I decided to get out of his way so I turned off the A/C and "punched it." Well, the TL decided that 4th gear was appropriate and I couldn't get out of his way. That Caddy just pulled on me all the way past 120. Man, I wish I had a 300 hp 295 lb-ft V8 in my car!!! Sure we can hang in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile, but after that look out! FYI, the STS does 0-60 in 6.8 and the 1/4 mile in 15.1 @ 93.2 mph. That car belongs on the "black list" unless running from redlight to redlight.

Those are big, heavy cars. I did not think that they ran that fast off the line 0-60.

Thumbs up

damn, i was going into route 280 from newark at 2 am and some new silver dodge intrepid or something past me up he was probably going about 80-85 and i was hitting 70 already, so i decided to pull up next to him. I gave him a smile threw the car on stick and left him, and ended up hitting 110 then slowed down because he was a punk and couldn't catch up.

That's the fastest i have ever gone in my TL so far. Only 2 weeks and 1 day that i have had it.

I know those Intrepids are running 250hp but they are big cars. I wonder how you would do from the line. Also in my state cops drive Intrepids so I always slow down when around an Intrepid.

Well, the Intrepid R/T (the fastest Intrepid) matches the 300M in almost all categories. According to Motor Trend, the 300M has a 0-60 time of 7.7 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 15.9 seconds. We should kill it in those races. That Caddy just really surprised me considering it's mass, but all that power from the Northstar V8 makes up for it...
