top speed?

How fast have people driven in thier TL on public roads? (freeways, highways, streets, road, etc...) NOT race tracks!

I am sure most people are gonna say 160+ and I am gonna have to call BS before you even answer/be honest....just curious to know!

I was lucky enough to be passing through Wyoming on a Thursday, mid afternoon on I-25. Nobody, I mean nobody around, so I let it go and got my TL-s up to about 148 ish or so, kinda going downhill. I think it may even got just a hair over 150 going down hill, but the engine limiter was kickin in scaring the hell out of me and I said ok, that's enough for me. So now, I keep it under 90, not worth the ticket or insurance.

the 160 mark is kinda useless there, unless you have nitrous...but still

I did 146-7mph today at Floyed Bennet Field to get my aggression out, i guess the crap in the trunk slowed me down...my box and some equipment.

136mph for 20miles at around 9pm on Sat. I think that was crazy but my friend 03 Legend tried to race w/ me. So, I just smoked him and we kept it like that for about 20miles; passing all other cars. It was fun tho.

About 105 on public roads. That was actually not very fast compared to what others were doing on the DC beltway.. crazy people on the left hand lane!

145 on a track though :d

I think I will try and get close to 160 tonight...I had maxed out previous car (97 galant es), when the needle reached the end point ofcouse the engine sounded like it was about to explode but I didn't release the pedal and it seemed to continue increasing speed, key word seemed. but I think the TL is capable of maxing out. I have gotten a $300 fine and an instant court date for going 140 in a 55 back in minnesota with my first car (78 benz 280ce) it might be a little harder in the boston area where there tends to be quite a bit more traffic but I'll keep ya'll posted...and if I get a ticket I will post a pic.

Not trying to pick a fight, but the TL-S is governed at 147, and the Camaro (4th gen) is governed at 162 (on the SS... if it's Z28, I think it's like 156 or something.)

I hit 147 a few weeks ago on US-127 Southbound. No traffic, full moon, just a desolate highway road with a fresh pavement. It was fun.

You guys are all crazy! Lemme know when and where you guys usually do these top speed runs, so I know NOT to be in the area. With that being said, I can't say I've never sped. But usually WAY LATE at nite when there are no cars around. So if I eat it, it'll just be myself and the car in one giant ball.

Admittedly driving from SF to LA recently, I was VERY TEMPTED to see what the TL could do on I5. Alas, my old (un)wise brain told me that it wasn't worth it.

I'm 22; young, dumb, and full of cum. I'm not always that crazy, but I do have a heavy foot and redline my car at least 4 or 5 times a day. The sound and the power are addictive.

No lose of balls. Trust me on that one pal!

I now have a responsibility to my wife. Can't be taking dumb chances anymore. Granted if anything happened to me she would have hit the "husband lotto." That would be the best case if something was to happen. What if I became crippled or a vegetable? Can't put that on my wife.

I take my "crazy" speeding to the track now. Don't get me wrong. I still drive above the recommended speedlimits, but only in a "safe and sane" way.

I was once dumb and young like you! Just remember, the older you get the more expensive your toys. I've had a souped up Integra from WAY back in the day (when running 14s you were FAST ), to CRXs, Civics, Benzs, and BMWs (damn I miss my M3!! Point is, at one point i did some stupid things as well. Hopefully you and everyone else will get thru it fine and look back on it later and say "WTF was I thinking!? I hope my kids aren't like that!"

Anyhow, I'll stop my ranting now. I must be old if i'm here "lecturing" people about stuff like this!

( I miss my m3!!!

I am 16, but not dumb I probily redline my car a little more than that. I do about 60 - 80mph constant on US1 going to skool. If some1 wants 2 go, or if i am following my friend in his C4S we usally max around 110- 120.

Me and my dad took out 99Tl up to 145-9 on 192 going towards tampa. He saw a porsche pass a truck and he went

I ran 110mph today on th Belt Pkwy (a highway in Brooklyn), racing some 97-99 Maxima in stick...By the time I've reached 90 i was good 6-8 cars ahead...which is suprising those cars are quick , I guess the guy wasnt that good with stick.

But I think I will never reach such speeds on any busy roads again, its not worth the risk.
