from your profile, I see you have a 2001 TL, therefore you can easily hit 140mph. I've hit 139 (don't b!tch at me guys!) in my 2000 and could have easily done more. That was a while ago. I have gotten smarter and don't even try that stuff anymore. I don't recommend you do it either, but the car IS capable of it.

Don't you guys have some kind of electronic speed control on your cars? I heard they set the speed limit of 115 mph or something for accord. I am not sure what's the limit of TL. BTW, I have a 2001 TL.
Did you guys really try with that high speed (say, 140 mph)? Last Christmas, I tested my new TL on a two-lane highway near death valley. I knew nobody around me in about 3 miles. It looks like they also set 120 mph speed limit on my car.

By my understanding - correct me if I am wrong - most of the car after 90s have some kind of electronic speed control. I am not sure how it works. But obviously for most of the cars on the street the top speed is something like 115 to 120. I heard MB or BMW doesn't have this speed control because they don't have speed limit in German. But I am pretty sure cars made in this country do have a speed-control set by the manufacturer.

Well, actually Bimmer and M-B "DO" have speed limiters on them. Usually set at 240km to 250km depends on the model. I think our TL is good for 149mph, but again our stock tires are not meant for such high speed. It's just crayp all-season tires.

There is no speed limiter in the TL's. I've had a few cars in the past that had them, for instance my '92 Pontiac Sunbird V6 would cut the engine after 108mph. Like I said, I did take mt TL to 139mph and it would've still kept climbing higher.
Again, don't try it. It's just stupid to go that fast on public roads, which is why I don't do it anymore.

They're V rated, that's good for 149MPH.

There is no electronic speed control on our TL. I have personally done 145 mph on my 99TL. I don't recommend anyone doing this type of speed. It was just one of those moment.
You can tell if a car has speed control. I rented a Chevrolet Malibu this past New Year's to go to Canada. On an open stretch of highway, I decided to see what it can do. Tell me why when I pushed past 100 mph, the engine decided to cut off on me. I thought it was a fluke so I tried it again. The same shit happened again. WTF, POS!!!
