Took the stock TLS to the strip :)

I can't find the slip, so you can call BS if you want to , but our bone stock car with 35 psi air pressure in the front tires, and ~1/4 tank of gas ran a 14.8 @ 94.5 mph with a 2.45 60'. The track prep was awful, the car would burn them so badly in first that I could *not* brake torque at all....so I simply floored it off the line on the green light. Oh yeah, I gate shifted.

I'm running 14.8 with Stone Headers and AEM cai.... I was also running 22 psi... Its possible but it all depends on humidity, temp and track condition..

Nice run..

nice! I ran a 15.3 stock @ 89mph ... had about 1000 miles on the ODO, it was 70degrees, 70% humidity...

My best w/ mods is 14.7@97mph ... that's on stock tires.. i'm adding sp5000's (tires) and the crank pulley and am hoping to be in the 14.5 territory soon

nice run!

Okay so I am going to ask a stupid question - the bone stock car runs 14.8 and you have mods and run 14.3? I'm not trying to be mean or anything but are the mod$ worth it for .5 seconds?

You can't compared those two runs. They were run at different tracks, on different days, under different conditions, by different drivers. Too many unknowns, and for all we know, nati's car could run 14 flat at A418's track.

I ran a 15.2 at 90 mph, 77 degrees, 100% humidity, stock tire pressure, K&N air filter.

i feel I could've done better if the weather cooperated. Towards the end of the night, though, when it dipped into the 50's, my friend reset his ECU and shaved off about .3 in the quarter.

a stock TL-S should run between 14.5 and 15 depending on conditions/driver.

higher than 15, there's something wrong.

Considering MT got a best of a 14.8 when testing the TL-S, I find it hard to believe a stock TL-S can run faster than that ... This is one of the first threads I've read that say a stock TL-S was able to reproduce the MT numbers.

You have to consider all different kinds of factors when looking at times ... Altitude, humidity, temperature, wind resistance all play a huge factor in times. The track itself will make a difference too..

I've run 15.3's stock, but there was a 20-30mph head wind blowing against the track. Of course the wind is going to make a difference.

I'll believe it when I see a stock TL-S run a 14.5 with my own eyes ... but thats just downright wrong imho. The CL-S 6spd runs about a 14.5, and the CL-S 6spd is definitely faster than the TL-S stock for stock.

BTW A418t81, congrats on the 14.8 ... Thats a great time! With the same conditions and some basic mods (headers/intake), you're probably looking at a low 14 run.

I ran 14.625@96mph 2.29 60' with my almost stock TL-S (AEM CAI w/ bypass and HKS Super Draggers) on heavy 19" Chrome wheels, 1/4 tank of gas, so i think bone stock i could hit the same times....AGP

Yeah, this car is VERY hard to get identical numbers over and over. With the gate shifting, you have to shift at the very limit before fuel cut or you'll either fall out of vtec on the shift or hit fuel cut, either will drop your mph and raise your time considerably.

I went from 15.3 @ 89mph stock to 14.7 @ 97mph modded .. intake and headers only.

With new stickier tires, crank pulley, my exhaust, i'm hoping to be aroudn 14.5 ... w/ vtec control.. 14.3 like Nat...

Nat.. nice time!

the difference between 14.8 and 14.3 is HUGE .. it's several carlengths .. and a lot of humiliation

Yea..thanks!!! i raced alot of cars that you would think would waste me, but i stayed head to head if not...... few inches in front...like m3...i would stick with till the end of third gear, then he'll shoot off. and yes he knew how to drive. i love my car and the extra hp aftermarket gives you! i believe its around 309-311

I ran 14.71 @ 96.3 in my bone stock TLS. I didn't check tire pressure but it was probably around 32, had 3/4 tank of gas I think, didn't torque brake (I heard that's bad for the car), and I didn't gate shift (used manumatic but took me several tries to perfect the shift timing because of the lag). Went with a friend who ran slightly slower and trapped slightly lower than me in his 03 G35 auto sedan (kill at the track!). I don't have a slip but I think I still have the video. If not, there's a thread on one of the Nissan or Infiniti forums with a link. I'll post if I find it.

That's really a good time A418t81...WTF have you been hiding??? What that Audi running these days?

My beast ran a 14.503 w/ an a$$load of gas and crap in the back. That and my wonderfully slow reaction time and overinflated tires! At least my umpteen runs were all within .3 seconds of each other in the sorry humidity of Florida...Go figure!

Haha, thanks man. I've just been lurking mostly. School has been killer so I've been concentrating a lot on that lately. The A4 is doing well, I took it to the track recently, but I was having an issue with the throttle closing on me in 1st gear(boost was spiking past the capacity of the stock map sensor). Even with the car cutting the throttle in first, I still ran 104 mph in the 1/4th. The kicker is that I trapped almost 3 mph slower in the 1/8th b/c of the issue in first gear, but still made up the difference by the finish line. The car felt UNGODLY and had it not had issues, I would have been trapping 106+

I'd say that I've had fun, but I'm not sure I had a totally normal college experience. I'm pre-med and had to keep right around a 4.0 to stay competitive (3.91 so far). Well I got early acceptance to med school about 2 months ago, but the pressure for some reason didn't slacken. I'm looking forward to the day when my work doesn't come home with me every night

BTW, I forgot to mention, but I'm selling the Audi and moving on to an Evo for the time being. I figure I'm 21 and this is the time to play with the boy racer cars, so I'm going to So if you know of anyone that wants a fast '00 A4 (50k miles) with over 10k in mods for 19k, send them my way Even though I'm moving on, I'm going to *really* miss my car
