Took the CLS in for some warranty work

I don't know if any (or all) of this applies to the TL or TLS, but I figured I'd let you all know anyways.

I have 27000 miles on my car and bought it in May of 2000. Here's what I am having done:

Replace latch on center console that doesn't stay shut

Fix sunroof squeek as per TSB

Replace floor mat anchor with metal holder so it stops falling out

Check brake rotors and pads (for the first time I felt major steering wheel vibration when I had to slow from 65 mph at a more rapid than usual rate)

And finally, having the hoses for the winshield washing system replaced. After three sets of wipers and a replacement of the washer fluid it turns out they are replacing the entire system for some reason so it stops eating the windshield wipers.

Whether or not any of this is on any interest, I don't know. But, just some things for you all to think about in case you're having any of these same problems.

Thanks man! It's always good to stay on top of any issues with these vehicles....even if it is not effecting each of us personally.

I don't think I ever had one of those things. Gotta check up on that.

Re: VSA Light

Has anyone noticed that the VSA light seems to glow even when the VSA is engaged? I noticed that when i have my headlights on a faint orange glow can be seen in the VSA triangle light. Is this due to excess light from other bulbs behind the gauges? it doesnt seem very important but i am just curious. I also noticed that there are tiny holes( about the size of a pinhead) on the bottom part of my cup holders. At night, the green light inside the center console is visible through these holes Has anyone else noticed this, or is the problem related just to my vehicle?

This has been mentioned before. If you have the dashboard illumination up all the way, the surrounding lights will give the VSA light (especially the bottom third of it) a slight glow. It will be most pronounced when your gas gauge is showing 3/4 full, as the lit needle points right at the VSA light and exaggerates the problem further. But you'll never mistake it for the full brightness light. Annoying--yes, problem--not really.

I just posted JZ39 got new pads & rotors do to same problem on my 2000TL purchased 12/29/99. The car had only 15,100 miles at time of service also fixed latch on armrest & put in missing 4 screws from underneath top lid. This was done under warranty had 15k service done at that time also.
