Too much Buffing

So I was buffing out my car a while back, trying to make it look all shiny and new again, and was using a cutting compound from Meguiars to smooth it out, well, I most have held it on too long, because I buffed away the clear coat on one of the side moldings. Sorry about the dirtiness in the pics, it hasnt stopped raining here.

Does anyone know how I can fix this without taking it to a body shop?
I was thinking of just using a spray on clear coat, but I don't think it will look as good, any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Looks like you hit Primer. You will probably need to get a body shop to repaint it.

Where you using a machine, doing this by hand??? Those pics arent clear enough to tell exactly what the damage is. Wash the car, or at least that area, and try to take better close up pics. Fill in the details of what you used, and how exactly you used it. We need more info to better help you out.
