Post TLS vs TL part 2

You may recall I had a prior post as I was concerned that the TLS seats appeared too small in comparison to the TL for a big guy like myself. Anyway I attended to the Acura dealer today to test them both. I drove the TL first as the TLS demo was out @ the time. The TL was very nice. Note, the dealer let me take it alone. When I returned to the dealer the TLS was there. I also took it out for a hard run. I suppose that is why I will NEVER buy a demo. These are my thoughts.

1) man that TLS goes like stink.
2) the seats are very nice and better than the TL.

3) man that TLS goes like stink.
4) the perforated leather steering wheel feels weird but pleasing to the hands.

5) man that TLS goes like stink.
6) I had that ! yellow light flashing a few times because of the acceleration from a stop.
7) man that TLS goes like stink.
8) That S on the shifter is awesome.
9) man that TLS goes like stink.

Now there is no question I want the TLS, and it is worth the extra money, but the question is, could my drivers licence handle this car (can yousay speeding tickets). My wife does not like the owling ball trim, but I want the black interior. What to do.

The hell with it I thik I will get the TLS. I will start negotiating soon. I dont know if it is BS, but the dealer says it will take about one month to get either car as all TL and TLS on their lot is sold.

I take it "stink" = very very fast

And I take it you liked the acceleration of the TL-S. Trust me, if you're like me, you'll get used to the 260hp REAL fast and will begin to crave more juice in no time!

Best of Luck

I didn't like the bowling ball trim at first, but it grew on me really quick. I've seen a lot of other people say the same. Personally, I think it looks better than the fake wood, which looks like fake wood. The bowling ball trim doesn't look like it's a fake copy of anything, so it somehow seems to fit better. And, I have had nothing but complements on the bowling ball trim (of course, if people don't like it, they are probably just being polite and not saying anything, but I have had several positive comments on it at least).

My guess is that you'll have so much fun driving the 260 ponies that you won't notice the "wood" trim too much! Buy your wife a nice present (I believe this is called a "bribe" in impolite circles).

Dude, your answer is clear, do what I did after I test drove the type S for the first time.... Buy One!

Depending on where you live, there should be plenty of dealers with cars in stock, check some other dealers.

BLEXV6,

Where's Rockwood? I'm not sure how fast cars are moving in Ontario these days. If you're near London, (Westgate Acura), I found the staff there extremely nice and negotiating with them was calm.

If you're looking for a deal in GTA... it's hit or miss. The guy in Burlington seemed okay but there was no way he was going to negotiate price. (If you're in K/W or Ottawa, I didn't go there.)

So you can see, I shopped around personally to find me the best price. Good luck with your search and I hope you join our ever-growing club!

What is the "Bowling Ball" trim?

The Bowling ball trim is the fake plastic wood in the door panels and centre console, that is a grey marble look much like the colour of a bowling ball. If you ever saw it you would understand. It is in place of the plastic fake wood colour found in most TL vehicles.

Darla, are you sure you sure you are a woman, as your name suggests. If I get a car my wife does not like, I don't think there would be enough money left after buying the TLS to buy her a gift that would suffice.

Derrick, I live near Guelph, and went to ERin Mills Acura in Mississauga. I am prepared to go to Sherway Acura (Toronto), Woodbine Acura, Toronto) and maybe others. Where did you go, how much did you pay or lease costs?

Thanks for your help.

*sigh* 260hp + comptech go fast goodies.
I find myself only satsified with the power now. Dang it... I remember the day when a 225 horse stang was a godsend.

BlexV6, get the car you want. You're obviously impressed with the TLS, so go for it. I independently select, negotiate, pay for, and get the car I want -- my husband does the same -- and 99.9% of the time we drive our own vehicles. We keep our insurance separate, too. He once came home with a new truck I didn't care much for, but I couldn't complain because I had what I wanted at the time, and he was making the truck payments.

I must admit, though, he likes my TLS and drove it twice within the first three days I had it, but things are getting back to normal. Tomorrow it will be two weeks since he's gotten behind the wheel.

This works for us, and presents aren't even a consideration!
