TL's made in Japan
Does anyone know if there were any 99-03 TL's made in Japan?
I know the Current Accord is mostly made here in Ohio but Sometimes there are models comming here from Japan

i dont think so.. if its from japan it would have all the japanese specs and other things that they have that we dont. and ours is an acura.. not an honda. most likely the only one coming hhere out of our country is canada. i could be wrong, but i doubt they would just bring the tl's straight from japan

The '99-'03 TL are made in Marysville, OH plant. The Japanese model (Inspire, etc) are also made on the same line ... just imported back to Japan.
Aside: those people who want to do a JDM conversion of their TL order their parts from Japan (Honda Access) -- but those parts are made in USA!!!

Note that the 2nd Gen TL is the Honda Inspire in Japan but the new Inspire in Japan is now the USDM Honda Accord.
But yeah all of our cars are assembled in Ohio, although some of the parts were made in Japan. Our transmissions for example were at one point made in Japan. I believe in 2001 there was a switchover so they were made in the US. Notably, the highest level of transmission failures occurred after the switchover happened.

And only the '96 - '98 TL's were built in Japan, ie 1st generation.

The 03's at least from Canada we made in the states. When I imported mine to the US, the Customs guy checked the labels and said it was made in the US, so I technically was just returning manufactured goods back to the US so no import fees (plus I owned the car for a year also).
