My wife and I went to look at the two cars after the dealer closed (2002 models), and she cannot get past how much she wants an MDX. Anyway due to budget constraints (read larger monthly and gas payments) the MDX is out. I have driven the 2001 TL already although not the 2002 TL and TL-S. I assume the 2002 TL with the exception of additional feautures over the 2001 drives similar. Is it just me and my wife or does the seats in the TL-s look smaller, than those in the TL. She also HATES the bowling ball trim, which I don't mind but do prefer the brown wood in the TL. I Hate the mags on the 2002 TL, but love them on the TL-s. Aside from the obvious power advantage, is there anyone out there that has had both cars and is my size, (6' 3" and about 235 lbs) and can comment about the roomieness of both seats and the car. I presently have a 1998 Accord EXV-6 that is very roomy for me.

yeah i've been in both. the TL-S seats i feel are much more comfertable because they are bucketed more. also i believe the TL-S seats also go back an additional two inches when compared to a normal TL. plus the headrest on the TL just plain ugly when compared to that of the TL-S.

MDX is a much wanted SUV around here. The dealership in Charlotte, NC has a huge waiting list and another shipment of MDX's is not due until this coming winter they are now saying. Anyway, we are happy to be rid of our SUV. SUV's are oversaturated in the marketplace and it's only going to get worse. Expect to lose resale value on SUV's over the next several years.

Get a Type-S over std. because (1) they are only slightly more expensive and worth the extra $$$, (2) the engine is more refined than the std. 3.2L and offers more HP for the same or better gas mileage, and (3) yes, the wheels look much nicer on TL-S.

If you have plenty of room in your Accord, you will be fine in the TL. The ugly bowling ball trim can be fixed with a wood trim upgrade available through this website. Happy hunting, TL-S's are in short supply as well.
