Type SH is manual only.. IMO, if he knows how to "drive" he will win. If he doesn't, the win will go to you..

This is my opinion.. If the 'lude is a stick...he'll take you from the line/light. If its auto...it might be a head on head race until the tl hits like um...3 gear. tl's are like 225hp?? preludes are 190hp?? but if his 'lude is a stick....you can hang with him at the take off by holding down on your break and rev your accelerator at the same time. when the light/flagger signs.......let go the break while holding down the gas and you'll TAKE OFF FAST! i think you take your gear down to a 1 and go up as you drive....don't red line it too much or you'll might blow your engine. good luck! (correct me if im wrong guys)

Don't forget though that redlining will cause the fuel cut-off to kick in and you'll just like an idiot riding a bull.

Ok, well, this is how i think....
I have a 01 CL-P, which has the same engine as yours.... I have AEM CAI, and i ran in a hot hot hot humid night in Baytown... It was 89degree and 100% humidities, which was REALLY bad, and no cars like it, cuz it will make the car run ALOT slower.... well anyway... I ran 15.13 that night, which I consider EXTREMELY well.... I weight my car, which weight 3450lbs, which is about the same as yours.... Well I ran the same car during March, and my best time on the same car was 14.82.... I ran with several Preludes that night, all 5spd, and all with mods.... they all ran high 15s.... the best time i have seen with the Prelude was 15.50....
This is my suggesstion... Don't worry about the magazine time, cuz they are driven by professional drivers.... In a real race, any driver would have presure which will make them not perform well in their driving skills.... So I would seriouly think go try race them, I think you have good chance to win, if not, maybe only lost by little... but remember this, they have to drive PERFECT to beat you!

well, that question can be answered if the following questions are answered:
1) Is the prelude a manual?
2) How experienced is the driver?
3) Are you guys drag racing?
4) Does he have any mods?
If the prelude is a manual and the driver is somewhat experienced, I believe the prelude will beat you. About a year ago I went to a test and tune night at Texas Motor Speedway in Ennis to run my car. There were several Preludes there that were stock and modded. A brand new Type SH stock ran a 15.4 in the quarter and a modded Type SH with I/H/E ran a 15.2.
The TL I believe runs high 15s stock, so I would imagine the Prelude beating you by a little.
