TL Type-S Owners...

Is it just mine... or do all other Type-S have that.... vibrating sound upon 1st or 2nd acceleration... after starting the engine??? I can't really explain it... but if it's normal... then you'd know what I'm talking about... I asked the service guy at the local Acura dealership... but chance would have it.. it's right next to the freeway... and he couldn't hear what I was referring to. Then he said something about, it, being a Type-S, that was normal... a friend of mine has a "none" TL... and her's doens't have it... Please tell me that it's normal... or it's back to the dealership I go....

I'm not 100% sure of which sound you're talking about, but there is a slight vibrating sound that you hear when you start driving the car....it's the ABS engaging. If you're talking about that sound that's about 1-2 seconds long, then it's definitely the ABS engaging and that's normal. If you're talking about another type of sound, then I'm not sure what it is....

Most likely the ABS doing a "self test" if you are not sure, take it to the dealer.

Definitely ABS. My 97 Accord does it too. Sometimes it lasts a half a second, sometimes about 3 seconds.

My TL-S tests the ABS twice, once the car is started

I THINK its normal, but not positive
