TL transmission swap: 5spd to 4spd?
I know some may seem that replacing a busted 5spd AUTO trans in a 00-03 TL with 4spd AUTO trans from a 99 TL is not an upgrade.
This is what I currently have: (1) 4spd AUTO trans, complete with engine harness & ECU, all from a 99 TL. I just want to get this 2000 TL. I'm sure I may run into swapping sensors/switches, too.
This is all possible, correct? Any engine codes I may come across?
Thanks in advance!

I deleted the posts you made in the 2G TL Performance Parts & Modifications Forum thread since this topic is not applicable to that forum and also because you posted this new thread.

This is probably the most economical and easiest way to get your car back on the road... When you use an AV6 transmission, you won't need anything else, provided that the donor transmission you get is in working order... save yourself some headache... if you are swapping out transmission, might as well do the least work that will yield the most positive result...

So you want to replace your dying transmission with an even older revision of a WORSE transmission?

Ron -- Thx for the advice & maintenance, man!
Skirmich, CP13 & thoiboi -- I appreciate the quick responses, guy! I've actually read & re-read couple of Acurazine threads concerning transmission swap alternatives before I became a member yesterday. I do understand the fact that the AV6 and/or the Odyssey trans would be the ideal swap.
Instead of selling what I have for the ideal replacement, I am willing to take my time now & experiment with what I already have in my possession, which is a 4spd AUTO trans, engine harness & ECU, all from the same 1999 TL. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that if you want to swap a 5spd AUTO trans from a 00-03 TL into a 99 TL with a busted 4spd, I would also need the 99 TL engine harness, ECU & to may have to swap pressure switches amongst a few others to cancel out CEL codes, avoid running rich & loss of VTEC.
I'd be grateful for any confirmation today from you guys!

You will need a different shifter (one from the 4 speed) and cluster as well. You will probably also need different cabin to engine compartment harnesses. Personally id throw the stuff up on craigslist and buy a AV6 trans and save yourself a lot of headache.

Your making this too hard on yourself. Stop trying to work backwards and go forward.
Buy an AV6 for your 5 speed TL. If you do not have an 00-03 TL then why are you considering swapping in the first place?
If you have a 99 then keep driving it like it is. All your issues are solved.
