TL seats

One of the things that I dislike about the TL, at least the '99 model, is the seat comfort. At first, the seats seem comfortable but after a long trip in the car 5+ hours, the lack of lumbar support kills my back. I'm only 21 but even when I have the lumbar adjustment all the way out, it still isn't completely supportive.

Anyone else agree?

I know that this is a near-luxury car, so the seats should be cushy and soft but when I corner I feel like i'm sliding all over the place. There seems like there is a total lack of side support.

Anyone?

I'm ranting, sorry.

I was a little upset about the seats also , I always feel it doesnt go low enough sort of like that cockpit feel I had in my Stealth but as time goes I guess you get used to it . Although there is a lumbar adjustment on the side of the back support , Did you just get your car ?

i agree, the seats are just not comfortable, i find them too soft and they lack support everywhere, especially the back,
it's ok for me in short drives say 45 mins, but nething more than an hour just make my back fatiqued.

I have to disagree here. I have a 99 TL with over 66K miles and I have driven to FL and back and up to Canada too. I thought the seats were great. Yea it might not have that side support but then again the 99 TL is not meant to be a sports car. They did fix that problem when the TL-S came out cause it is more sportier.

So I am happy with my 99 TL seats.

TL seats are really soft, but i'd have to agree, they could be more supporting...

esp. upper back

I bought a NBP 2003 TL-S a little over a month ago, and I have yet to find a comfortable driving position (I'm 6'0" and 190 lbs.) In fact, I even started a similar thread over in the TL-S forum.

My commute is routinely 45 min. and sometimes a bit longer. My right hamstring always feels tight during the drive and my back aches after I get out of the car. My right calf also rubs against the center console, which I have (somewhat) gotten used to.

At least two TL reviews - Edmunds and Motor Trend - commented on the TL's driver comfort problem. I am somewhat amazed that Honda/Acura, a company well-known for its ergonomic designs, could make this kind of mistake.

Sorry to rant, but I'm really bummed that my "dream" vehicle isn't comfortable to drive in for more than 15 minutes.

Then again, I'm sure there are many people who find the driving position just fine...

One thing I Found is that the passenger seat is a completely differenet seat, like how it feels compareed to the drivers seat. The passenger seat feels like you are going to slip out of if, the bottom cushion feels very flat, and the adjustment, do little. By far i dont like sitting in the passenger seat, only when i have to, im sure glad im the driver for most of the time.
