TL-S vs TSX

Many people have mentioned already, it's not wroth to let go your TL or TL-S for a TSX, I totally agreed in regards to the value of the two, or even it will be a down grade if to do so. But what do you think if trading in because of the tranny problem on the TL? Aren't you guys tired already just to keep bringing your car in for the tranny problem and keep being told no fault found?

I like the TSX actually, but like i said in a previous thread, there is no way i'd trade my 4 door 6 cyl. for a 4 door 4 banger. If i were to get a 4 banger, it would be either an RSX-S or an S2000 [sporty 2 door 4 knockers]. I don't see why Acura came out with another 4 door.

Not worth it for a car you have to rev it so high to get any decent power and all of that noise that they make. I also cant see paying nearly 30k or so for a 4cyl car at all. I hate the sound that 97-01 Ludes, and RSX-S 's make when you rev them, to loud for me and this car sound just like them!:wow:

Love my Type-S. TSX is an accord with 4 cylinder and costs more than a V6 Accord.

I'd looked at both the tsx and tl-s and for the price, I rather pay a little more to get the tl-s, it's bigger, has more power, and more features then the tsx...just my opinion though

just test drove the TSX today...boy was I surprised...

a short shift 6 speed manual
pull out door handles instead of our flip open
aluminum door sill
remote function to close all windows
60/40 splits
duel climate controls
side mirror indicators
side curtain airbags
bigger navi screen w/ voice control
better sound unit
an acura chrome badge on the engine cover

I mean this is the exact list that we people at this forum had complained about our TL-S for the past 2 years...someone must've been listening.

If the TSX is a bigger car I would've trade in my TL-S immediately...

I don't understand why everyone keeps comparing the TSX to the TL... they are two different cars. Just b/c they have 4 doors doesn't mean that they're comparable. Other then the fact they're made by Acura there's not many things that are similar. I mean, you don't see the CL guys posting every day about... RSX vs. CL because they're both 2-doors. That would be a rediculous comparison.... almost as bad as TL vs. TSX.

The TSX fills the gap that will be left between the RSX and the TL, that's its job.. a mid-level car with some nice luxury features. It's not replacing the TL, it's not competing in the TL's class, it's doing it's own thing in the mid-level market.

The TSX is the European Accord, and the TL is the up-scale version of the Accord. So be patience guys, all of the above features, plus more, will soon be appeared in the next redesigned TL.

Oh, maybe without the 6-speed manual, since that none of the TL's direct competitors such as ES300 and J35 offers it.

Test drove the new TSX last week and was very impressed with the car, the interior most of all was outstanding IMHO. Drove the automatic which was very smooth shifting and handling was superb as well. But in talking with the salesman concerning the redesigned TL, he said it will definately have more features than the current model and to expect MSRP to be between $32,000.00 and $35,000.00. As much I love my 99 TL, I'm afraid they will be shutting out a good segment of the market and it will no longer be the value as it currently is. I know it will probably be out of my price range. I may have to consider the TSX which is a beautiful car as well although a little smaller.

I will totally have to agree with you here. A major reason the TL is so attractive is because of the value of this car. You get what essentially feels like a more expensive car for around $30k. If the TL were to cost $35k, I would be looking at a whole new gambit of cars. I know I personally would have bought a BMW, but I loved what I could get in a TL (Type S) for $30k -- I would essentially have to spend $5k more to get a BMW of similar stature.

If the 04 TL is going to be around $35k MSRP I think we will all see a serious decline in sales. I'm not saying Acura is doing the wrong thing here. I just think the TL's popularity may go down as the price goes up.

Obviously, this is my opinion, but I think many would agree with me.

I'm just glad I got in on the ground floor. Meaning, at least I got my 03 TL-S for a great price.

I can't agree with you more. Simply replacing the H badge with an A badge doesn't change the fact that the car is still a V4 Accord. Even the America Accord has a V6. I think Honda just need a car to fill the void previously taken by the 4-door Integra. However don't get me wrong, the TSX is definitely a better car than the Integra, but Acura just didn't have any 4-door model that is less expensive than the TL to offer.

I was at the dealer...test drove the car, feels pretty solid for a small car... gaps between body panels are much better, the interior fit and finish are nicer too...oh and one more thing, TSX is built in Japan, and ours... ah...
