Tl-s Stolen!!!!!

Okay so my WDP TL-S was stolen about a month ago now and I just got the check from the insurance company and I'm looking for some suggestions on a new ride. I loved my TL-S and was considering getting another one. As for the 3G tl I personal think the 2G looks better.

lol. i disagree. Dont get a 2g. Looks may be deceiving. 2g tranny are a POS. feels like my 2003 TL-S tranny is failing on me right now. tranny feel stress out shifting to different gears.

orrrr, you can get a 2nd gen tl and get a better tranny made for it, still less than a 3g and you get the looks you want, plus the ability to mod for cheaper. plus it seems like you can find a 2g pretty easily now a day, that wont last long

Buy a used Civic. Bank the remainder and use it plus the Civic trade as a DP on the 4G TL.

You mean 335i can't afford the insurance and the car payment so thats out of the question.

I hate to ask, but how did the thieves steal your TLS? Isn't it pretty hard to jack without the transponder key?

actually.. i really think the 2G TL-S is a bit better looking car (reminds me a the Legend)

but... tranny = pos... interior = garbage (compared to 3G), slower then 3G, worse navi, etc..etcc

but.. huge price dif. 03 TL-S Navi = $20k 07-08TL-S Navi $32k+

Subject to the person, and type s vs 3rd gen (not the new s) they arent that much quicker. Put a manual in the 2nd gen and they are faster! How do i know, ive done it.

Buy the 3G TL-S now. Then swap to a 4G TL-S which will be introduced at the mid-model-cycle change in 2011.

If you do like the look of 2nd Gen (I know what you mean I do to) get a 02 TL-S with low mileage. Just make sure its not salvaged and if it has really low miles you will be covered until at least 2009 for a free tranny! Some 03s are not covered if you really want an 03 I would make sure its covered by the warranty just in case.

And all the trips to the dealer to get your bimmer serviced and the expensive maintenance after warranty no thanks. (and FWD isnt as bad handling most think, especially for 98% of the drivers out there who arent capable of pushing the car safely beyond 90%)

i dont think our TL is any better.. our tranny are a POS. and my shocks are blown at 50k running on stock springs. seems like my TL tranny is slipping ATM. having trouble shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. and I dont think i am under warranty for the new tranny.

I'm really leaning in that direction thinking maybe bank 8K of the insurance money and buy a RSX as my daily driver till something new comes out. Maybe wait till the new TL's come out or the IS350's get a little cheaper.
