TL-S Identification
If you see a de-badged 2002 TL on the highway, is there any way to tell if it is a TL-S? I have not seen any 02 TL-Ps yet, so I do not know if there are any visual differences other than the badge.

The only real way to tell is if you can notice the wheels and tires. The Type-S has larger (and different) wheels. Other then that, they are pretty much the same. I think they should have made the "clear" tails on the Type-S only, but that's just me....

I'd trade headrest with anyone with a TL-P... just so i can stick a f*ckin LCD screen in it!!! LOL... yeah right!!
but yeah that kinda suck though cuz I *did* kinda think about putting LCD screens on the headrest.. but then i realized that the TL-S has a different one =*( so it's not really possible.... *sigh*.... but if I REALLY want that I guess I could trade with someone who has a TL-P right? hehe
but to answer your question, it is indeed kinda hard to tell if you're on the freeway... the only differences are:
From the exterior:
- Eternal Blue on TL-P vs. Aegean Blue on TL-S
- Naples Gold & Firepepper Red on TL-P only
- 17" rims on TL-S vs 16" rims on TL-P
From the interior:
- Perforated leather on seats and steering wheel
- White background instrument panel on TL-S
- Different headrest on TL-S
- Type S shift knob
- VSA button on TL-S vs. TCS on TL-P
but like thephantom said... if you can't tell? you race it!!

I saw a the darker blue 2002 TL-P Tuesday. It had the rear spoiler. When I came up behind it, I thought damn that looks good. Then I thought too bad it's not a Type-S. Then I passed him. Hehe

Well, here's a distinguishing interior feature... but easily noticable (unlike white gauges): Look at the head of the driver. In the majority of cases, if you see wrinkled faces or a lot of gray hair, that's a TL-P, if it's a relatively young face, that's a TL-S... Not universal, but pretty close. I think the owner's manual dictates that )))
