Is there any truth to this stuff about the TL-S headlights not being as bright as the previous models? Someone said that they aren't Xenon. What's the deal?

 

I had a 99TL, now the 02 TL-S. The headlights in the TL-S BLOW AWAY the headlights on my 99. They light up a darkened back road to the max. The fog lights do a great job of lighting the area just in fornt of the car.

The lights are one of the best features on the 2002, IMHO.....

I just picked up my new tl type S this weekend and put 500 miles on it. Went to Dallas and typed in the phone # of the restuarants and the Nav system directed us to our destination. The zenon lights are awesome. They shine about 25% further than my Z-28 and light up about additional 100 feet on further on each side. I am 54yrs. old and believe me these old tired eyes apprecaite the superb illumination. I have never expeirenced anything like thes lights. This car is awesome to drive and I drove the hell out of in Dallas and on the road average about 80mph back to Waco and the mileage was 25.333mpg. I am sure straight on the road will easily be 28- 30 mpg. Larry

 

You heard wrong. The TL-S headlights are every bit as bright as the 99-01s and are HIDs. Maybe they meant the fogs which are plain ol' halogens and look yellowy when lit next to the HIDs. But with the fogs and HIDs on, it really lights up the road in a very wide swath--I love 'em.
