It is all relational, if your last car cost under $20k, you most likely expect more (especially from Honda) for that price. But if you've owned other cars in the same range, some people feel you get what you pay for. Then again, you could spend $44k for an Expedition with ok at best quality, or $37k for an ES300 with impeccable quality, it's all how you look at it.

2000 3.2 TL with 20 000 Km.
Nothing serious so far.
Mostly (very) annoying squeaks and rattles.

Rear quarter pane windows were unsealed.
-> Dealer sealed them.

Sunroof gasket squeaked.
-> First dealer greased opening then installed teflon tape.

Driver seat-belt buckle squeaked.
-> On third visit to the dealer, he had some seat bolt 'shaved'.

Occasionally the vehicle will shift forward slightly when it is at rest, brakes are applied and transmisson is in D5.
-> Dealer says it is 'normal'. (!)

Brake calipers appear to have oxidized very rapidly.
-> Dealer claims it is 'normal'.

1. driver's door weather seal rattling (fixed with latch adjustment)
2. sunroof seal squeaks (fixed with teflon tape)
3. passenger seat belt buckle squeaks (waiting for dealer to order part)
4. driver's door paint chip on door lip (dealer touched it up)
5. one rubber plug on trunk missing ( dealer ordering part)

The most annoying are the sqeaks and rattles but once you have them fixed you will feel much better. TL's quiet interior makes any noise very noticeable.

Umm..if the sounds are coming from the interior, doesn't that defeat your point ??

The point is, there are known rattling issues eminating from the interior, so how can the interior be quiet ?? Only at idle ??

Ah, my point since I got most of my major interior squeaks (except front passenger seatbelt buckle) fixed the TL cabin is much more enjoyable.

Good to hear. Hopefully Acura is listening and will eliminate most if not all of these niggling little annoyances with the next-gen models.

I think what he was saying was cuz the inside *is* very quiet -- its easier to hear squeaks rattles (over road noise or lack thereof)
