Tl-p Axel Exhuast?
so its common knowledge that adding the comptech exhuast to our TL's will not give you much HP gain~ I have AEI intake but does it make sense to add intake but no exhuast? does the air flow better then stock "axel exhuast"? Does it look better? sound better?
pictures would be awesome

Yes, it's true. An exhaust will only yield about 1-3 WHP. The sound and looks are opinionated. An aftermarket exhaust will be deeper and louder. As of looks, every exhaust is different looking, some are larger than others.

All season tires needed
I have a 99 acura tl approaching 50k miles running on stock michelin MX4's (205/160 16). These are decent high performance tires but not by far all season tires. They handle wonderfully at high speeds but traction in rain and snow is something to be desired. So now that my stock tires are near bald, I would like to buy 4 new tires but try out a different brand of tire. I am hearing alot of recommendations but missisng what I want to hear..."this is a great high performance summer and winter tire!" So my question is, what tire can I get for a reasonable price that will give me that same silky smooth ride I get from stock michelins and get excellant rain and snow traction as well. I've been hearing alot of positive feedback on Bridgestone potenzas. Any suggestions??
Please help before we get blanketed with one of those ny snowstorms.
Thanks!

the exhaust is baisicly only for looks and sound. the comptech cat back is supposed to be good for 8hp, while the axel back is supposed to be only good for 2-3hp. i got the comptech for the sound.
as for tonydeff the 2 best allseason high performance tires for your dollar are the Sumitomo HTR+ and the ContiExtreme Contact

dude, I just got all 4 stock Michs replaced on my 2000 TL-p, did a lot of research, and speaking from experience here man, the BF Goodrich 225/55/16 tires are awesome. Didn't have to upgrade the rim to get better handling and control. And I only paid $590 installed for the whole set at sam's. However those tires are not available instore, has to be special ordered from samsclub.com and have them shipped to your neighborhood sam's club and have it installed there. HIGHLY recommended.

wont the exhaust yield a little more power though for us TL-p guys since ours is not as free flowing as the type s? just curious because i thought that was one of the differences between the two cars. i didnt know if they rated the 2-3 hp for the type-s, or for both cars. thanks.

Alright JT24yo and tonydeff quit hijacking this thread with a topic related to it in no way whatsoever.
My suggestion on the exhaust is get the CT Axel-back for it's looks and tone. Then go to a muffler shop and get a custom Y-pipe. If you got a Type-S get a 2.75" and a TL-P go with 2.5". You don't want to overkill the flow.

No, there is, but there's currently a waiting list till Dec. and it costs 1100 dollars. Getting axelback and custom cat is to your standards and saves 3-400 bucks.

I've got the Comptech axlebacks ... they look nice, but they don't sound that much louder than stock, and they droan a lot on the highway. I don't regret buying the Comptechs, but just as an FYI incase you do a lot of highway driving and would be annoyed by the droaning. I guess its not the droaning itself thats so bad, its that the car is so quiet on the highway that you hear the exhaust more.
