TL-P 6sd?

Is a 6spd conversion possible with the tl-p motor, and have everything running right like no limp mode?

I've been reading through hours of threads but still not sure.
Any help is appreciated.

What if you buy a donor 03 cl-s and swap the motor, tranny, ecu, etc... Will you run into any problems or is it completely plug and play?

There are many threads about 6spd swaps, and many pages to read through.

I just wanted to know if it was possible without swapping the motor and keeping my tl-p engine to keep the overall price cheaper.

I want the swap mostly for the reliability of the trans.

I understand I need rv6's module, but unsure if i will need a cl-s pcm?

Also, how do i even contact rv6?

No, you dont need the ECU. That is what the module is for. Its to retain your motor and wiring.

This is the answer I was hoping for. Just wanted to be 100% positive before i start purchasing parts.

The 6spd swap will go on now.
Wish me luck

Indeed but I don't want to go through the hassle of pulling out the motor and going through all the wiring.

As well as I won't be doing this project alone, and will end up paying someone to help me out.

I mean the motor doesn't need to get yanked out to do just a 6spd trans right? At least thats what I thought?

You don't needed yanked out the motor to do the swap. Just remember to change of the rear auto mount to 6speed bracket an mount when you remove tranny.

BTW:
My 6speed thread only had 2 pages

You can pull the motor and trans out together faster than just the trans Its easier to pull the motor out and do every thing outside the car but not necessary.

Yea your part list is a little confusing. Is it basically 6MTUA5's list? Or is there more to it?

Also how do I get a hold of Richie for the harness/module?
Or where do I order it from online?

My list is same has 6MTUA5 like many other.
The only different in my is you can see in diagram of what your buying an where i got parts from. Sometime just get parts# can still be confusing...

Also in googles search " V6 obsession" an you find Richie thread. The 1st thread on TOP.

Checking for parts now and everything seems reasonably priced except for a few things.

Cup holder - $91.56 I will def try to find a used or junkyard one. That price is ridiculous.
Clutch pedal bracket - $317.87 WOW! This shit is that expensive. Can this be interchanged with something else. Or what else can I use. I will def try to find a junkyard one of these.

And the shift boot and shift knob combo comes out to - $274.47 that hurts a little
does anyone know the part # for the silver trim around the shift boot that tells you the gear locations?? That would be nice to have as well.

And the starter is $408.74. This would be nice to have new for peace of mind, but how well will a used one hold up. I got the phrase "do it right the 1st time" implanted in my mind.

Will it make sense to replace the gauges with type s gauges if im keeping the stock tl-p motor?

Will richie's module make everything run perfectly? What problems can i expect. i dont want CELs or anything because i must pass emissions in California.

will i need this part: IMRC 37850-PGE-A01 if im keeping the stock tl-p motor?

Thanks in advance.

^I don't think you will get any CELs. Also, I wouldn't change the cluster if your keeping the TL-P ECU. That's kind of the point of the module.

I would, The 6 speed tach doesnt have the drive indicator and has a larger tach to read which you need more in a stick.

The point of the module is for the ECU and not having to rewire the whole car, not the gauges

Search, search search!!!!!!! Look around for used parts on those that you can use (not the clutch or flywheel though)

If you read thru hours of posts you would know you can use different clutch pedals. Look for an accord clutch and brake pedal set.

Do a little search on the module. Read up on it. Its purpose is to make the car run WITHOUT having it throw any codes. Its main purpose is to trick the auto ECU into thinking the auto trans is still there so it soesnt go into limp mode

NO, you dont need the IMRC. That is ONLY for the type-s motor.

Thanks Kris.

i dont mind paying for new pedals themselves, I was just shocked that the clutch bracket was so expensive.

Other than that. Are the gauges plug n play? Remove old gauges and plug in new gauges to existing wires/setup?

If it's that simple then that would be the last thing i would be doing.

Wow, read through all 97 pages yesterday of the "6 Speed obsession" thread. Most people did a J32A2 swap and the module worked.

I'm keeping the J32A1 engine and 2000 stock ECU.
According to the thread its confirmed to work with the 4AT ecu, but what about the 5AT TL ecu? Anyone else done the same thing i plan on doing?

I'm ready to order parts guys, just gathering all the info possible so i dont run into any road blocks.
