The TL made it to 100K :)

and still going strong. I have until 106,200 miles to worry about the tranny warranty, but other than that I my TL.

Anyway, I took apart my armrest and taped some of the screws so it would reduce the squeaks, but I'm still getting rattles coming from that area. I tried emptying it out to see if it was the contents of the console rattling but it sounds internal.

Has anyone else done the armrest de-squeaking and did you have to do anything extra besides just taping the screws?

Thanks!

tried it. I guess I can't find what part of the arm rest is squeaky.

The tab for opening up the bottom compartment in the center arm rest is what's rattling in my car. It's not bothering me too much for now, though.

How do you know its the tab? I never thought of the tab rattling. This rattle sounds like its coming from the rear backside of the armrest, but it doesn't make sense because I taped all of the screws!

haha nice! im almost there too for my 99TL. i get squeaks too but i stopped caring about it. the worst part about my TL is the damn retraction of the seat belts. when i take my seatbelt off it doesnt retract as good as it used to. i have to actually help it retract and it gets annoying. if i dont retract the seatbelt because i forget sometimes, the damn thing gets caught between the door and the car. UGH, that left alotta dents on the insides of the where the car infos are..

My tranny hasn't had much problems since I got the car in May of last year. I have had my tranny replaced but I don't think I will have too much more problems with it. If I do, oh well, I still love the car.

Im right by you I got 106,500 on my 99 and it runs just like it did when I bought it. Only one of my engine mounts is bad so it's kind of a harsh jerk when I put it in D or R. Anyways about your armrest check the bolts that connect the top part, they tend to loosen quit often making it squeak pretty bad. If not that just take the center console apart and put it all back together tighting the screws as tight as you can.
