there is no JDM TL. the USDM TL is no longer the JDM inspire. the USDM 4 door accord is now the JDM Inspire. and it comes with a 3.0 v6 with 240 hp at the flywheel. just like the accord down here. it may also be available with an inline 4 but im not sure about that.

Hey Scottosan,
Why don't you get some US Acura TL Badges...you will upgrate/promote your car's status.
Same thing with the Euro Honda Accord and US Acura TSX
Along with US Honda Civic and Canada Acura EL

Honda Inspire
Hello, I just bought a used JDM 1999 Honda Inspire. I really don't care that much about what 3.2V on the trunk means but it looks almost exactly like an Acura TL. The VIN plate in the engine compartment says "Made in USA" and there are "Honda of America" badges on each C pillar.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone have a link to an english language version of the owners manual?
2. If not, does anyone know how to set the clock (I've tried every different button permutation and cannot change the houre although the minutes are exactly correct.)
3. Anyone have info on what I could buy to replace the broken Gathers 10 disc CD changer?
4. Any info on which DVD-ROM version would work? I doubt if the Cayman Islands are digitized but I just want to get the Japanese "no disc" message off the screen.
BTW the TV works fine - too bad we cannot have this frature in the USA. Picture goes off when the car starts moving, comes back on when you stop. Audio stays on all the time. Great for watching the evening news in stop & go rush hour (yes, we DO have a rush hour in the Caymans)

Three Wheelin'
Much like the TL-X prototype, I like the fact that the car was actually designed over seas and built right here then shipped back over there. When I saw what they actually intended for the car I was amazed and realized we were the ones who got the less luxurius version. They had PC and phone integration, fog lights, side and rear cameras, folding mirrors and accessories galore. Even daisey chain up to 8 changers it was sick. So if you think making it the Honda Inspire from the Acura TL makes it cheaper, I beg to differ, you just have to know what a real Inspire comes with.

It's the same car. Honda makes Acura, so what is the problem with people wanting to support and transform their car to promote the company that engineered such a beautiful vehicle? It goes one step further to having what is unique to your area. Since the cars are, in generalities, equal it changes nothing to badge the car as it appears in another country. 2002 Honda Inpire or 2002 Acura TL, no matter which one I read I see the same great car. This is such a pointless discussion because there will always be people on both sides. It goes back to the same principle: let people do what they want to do to their car. It doesn't affect you in any way. If you truly believe that it makes the car look worse by badging it as a Honda, feel better inside that you *think* your car is a step above theirs then. If you believe that making your car completely JDM rather than USDM, take pride in the effort and money invested to make your car what it is. I'm done.
