TL on Injured Reserve list.
Well, last night I get a call from my wife that she was in an accident while going to the gym.
She was driving straight on a 2-lane road and some old guy in an early model, tug-boat sized, Grand Marquis side-swiped her while trying to pull out of a shopping center. Dont ask me how he managed this b/c it wasnt a small road or anything. It just looks like he took WAY too wide of turn.
Luckily my wife annd gramps were ok and my wife was able to avoid jumping the curb while whe was swerving to gain control (would have been more of mess if she did!), but I had severe headache after seeing the damage.
He demolished my rear-driver door, scratched up a little of my back panel and my rear rim. He was cool about it and said that he would pay out-of-pocket if the damage was < $1k, otherwise he'll let his insurance pick it up. I'm taking it in after work to see what the damage is.
I took these pics this morning

Ouch sorry Anil
Surprised you are posting here on our crappy site.
Might as well call your or his insurance company now. That looks like more than just the door skin being damaged. Repainting that, the rear quarter, and a new wheel, is gonna be more than $1k. Looks like it should be able to be fixed as good as new though, so wouldnt worry about frame damage etc.
At least your wife is unhurt which is more important than any damage that could be done to a car.

And no I wouldnt wish death up a guy that was born in 1912. He's trying to survive just like you and I, and even though I dont think he should be behind the wheel of an 87 Marquis...that doesnt mean that I would wish anything bad on him. Really nice comment though Ianbiz.
Update:
Well, I took my car in for an estimate on Friday after work. Looks like about $3300 worth of damage (not including any hidden damages like alignment, etc.).
The car is sitting at another body shop right now and I dropped a copy of the estimate to Gramps so that he can call in a calim to his insurance on Sat. morning...........nothing yet! And when I call him, I get a busy signal or answering machine. WTF!
So, I call his insurance and file a claim. They get all the details and I tell them I need a rental car asap b/c we are down one car right now. The guys says the office that approves the car rental is not open on the weekends and I would have to call back on Monday. WTF!
My insurance says that I could always pay my dedectuable for the rental and they would go after the his insurance company to get my money back........Nah! Why should I have to pay a single penny out-of-pocket?!? WTF!

bloo, sorry to hear about your accident. Accidents do happen *that's why we have insurance.* Glad to hear that no one was hurt. Your wife must be one hell of a driver No offense to females in general or anything but the girls I know, 95% of them would freak out if they got into an accident.
P.S. If you have that one lug on our wheels, that means we have wheel-locks on them right? I have those lugs already on my tl`s but found another set in my trunk???

Of note, my baby almost bought it today too at the hands of a senior citizen.
Was stopped at a red light with at least 6 cars ahead of me. Light turns green and we all go through. A senior citizen (looked like he was 80-90 wearing those wrap around huge sunglasses) in a Cadillac Deville (read BOAT), was on my right, perpindicular to me and he tried to make a right on red right into my front passenger side. Slamming on my brakes, leaning on my horn, and swerving a little to my left almost hitting the guy next to me kept me from eating it. The guy behind me almost creamed him, but he stopped in time. Old guy panicked and just stopped almost causing a pile-up.
Seniors gotta drive too, but I dont understand the obsession with huge, long Caddy's, Mercury Grand Marquis, Long Buick RoadMasters, Crown Vic's, etc. Can someone explain it to me???

I have no idea why they only drive these big arse battleships around. I think what happens is that they buy a car when they are not so old and keep it forever b/c they are too scared of change?
