with my old integra. my good friend scratched the fuck out of it and didn't want to go through insurance and it ended up being a fairly big ordeal.

i wanted it all fixed to how it was before (about 1200 worth of repairs) and he just wanted to pay 200 or so. eventually we were able to agree on something but i was about to take one of my best friends/roommate to court.

its a bitch dealing w/friends.

why go through insurance if you are friends and ruin your track records i don't understand why everyone is recommending that you go through it...

Anyways if he is your good friend just think how you will laugh at this stuff after its done with, trust me i know only with good friends though. Don't ruin each others friendships and going to insurance that's the dumbest thing that can happen. Just save some $$$ and fix it, since you were screwing around whatever the estimate is split it 50/50 even if your damage is 300 and his is 2000 help each other thats what we did when my friends messed up.

Shit happens man.

back to the topic Acura Tl should be no more than $450.00 and the S4 if you go to the right shop will be no more than $1500.00

GOOD LUCK MAN AND BE COOL WITH YOUR FRIEND SHIT HAPPENS THE SATISFACTION AFTER YOU BOTH FIX IT WILL BE MUCH BETTER FEELING SO DONT GET GREEDY LOL

GOOD LUCK AGAIN.

Dude, I don't know what your smoking -- but give me some.

Generic bumper on ebay painted is roughly $300 shipped. He's got heck of a lot more damage than that. And who wants generic anyhow, OEM is prob at lease $75 more. If OP is okay w/ a jacked up trunk then sure $400 might get him by, assuming he does the labor. There goes the resale value of the car if it's not fixed.

I agree with you, tegkid, it is a bitch dealing with friends... but a real friend will man up to the error they made and mistakes committed. It is not about how much he or I could get the repairs done for, it is the fact that he fucked up my possession and he should make it whole to my satisfaction not his.... I would take that person to court if he did not agree to where I wanted to get the vehicle fixed.

A while back, I loaned my motorcycle to a real good friend. He got into a accident with it... caused about $1g in damages. What did he do? He immediately called me and told me about it. I checked out the damage, i said nothing... he ordered the parts for the bike and called the dealer (not a motorcycle shop) and said that he would get it repaired there so that I had nothing to worry about. The dealer called him and told him when to drop the bike off... I intervened and told him that I would repair the bike myself and just to save a bit of money.... that is a real friend... he ordered all new parts (even down to the freakin bolts and screws) and made sure the job was going to be done right and not questioned... He owned up to his mistake and error and resolved it...

I am not saying that your friend is going to try to nickle and dime you into getting the repairs done at some cheap and shady establishment, but if you make an error like this, make sure you can make the owner whole to his satisfaction....

he decided to go through insurance, especially since his S4 is be fucking expensive to repair out of pocket. i'm dropping it off at a local dealer bodyshop monday, his insurance is paying for both our cars and rentals. the worse thing out of all this is that i'm stuck with a POS rental (prob a sonata or an altima).

he went through insurance because it would cost him a fortune to fix out of pocket. it was technically his fault since he rearended me, he was screwing around a lot more than i was too. i'm just surprised his huge brakes (brembos?) didn't outperform my little ones. and we're still good friends, shit happens..

haha i don't know why everyone thinks the trunk is bad, it is fine just has a gap in it, so i don't think it would need to be replaced.

before

after
