The TL is Gone, But i am still Family
Today i did it. I got rid of the TL. After 4 tranny's replaced and the current one going again, my heart wasnt into this car any more. It also has the door and front fender rusting. I loved it and wanted to mod the hell outta it, but the tranny couldnt take it. I am 23 and wanted something faster, raw and good looking. Yes i downgraded, but i got an all out performance car instead. I got myself a trans am with SLP upgrades. The car is mint. Rondog has already been in it and can tell you that it is a beast and solid. Not one squeek or rattle in the car. I am exited at what this car can do. The mods are endless and i can customize the car for the track street or strip. I hope you guys can forgive me and keep me in the family. Once you come here you can never leave and i love this place to death. I will still offer what i have learned about my car to others and still be an avid member of the board. Here are some pics of my beast.

Thats nice but you need a big screaming chicken painted on the hood. LOL J/K Were you able to get the POS TL bought back? Or did you just take a huge hit on a trade/sale? Did you disclose the tranny issue?
BTW what SLP? does it have the vette's 350ci block?

that is the 97-04 vette LS1. Dyno for dyno they are the same motor, gm underates them from the factory so that the vette guys dont get pissed. The motors have little differences like more restrictive exhaust and conservative ecu. They didnt know the TL had a messed up tranny. And i made money off teh trade not lost.

What your problem is?
I don't want to sound stupid, but isn't that a CL in the pic or is it a TL converted???
The Trans Am is an awesome car, you will have some amazing fun with it and your right, there are a lot of mods for that vehicle. When I was in Dallas we used to drag race at night (like most kids that are college aged) and i rememer this one guy that had a modded trans am. he spent like $80k on mods... like a year after college, he was featured in a Dateline or 20/20 special.... his car could haul ass and car after car he would kill folks......... Good Luck and have fun...
btw, don't be a starnger and come back and contribute to the 'family'.....

a lot of people are mistaken about the autos in these cars. If you go to the ls1 or f body forums you will see that the fastest ones are autos. The GM auto is pretty much bullet proof and can take very well to mods. I did my research and decided that for the mods want to do the auto is the way to go. I want a street/strip car that i dont have to go crazy with in traffic. If i was gonna be auto Xing or didnt have much traffic i wouldnt care.
