I was under the impression the Nissan Skyline IS the Infiniti G35 is the USA (with the exception of a few minor differences). That is what my friends from Japan are telling me.

they are basically the same~
Dude Jettas are chick cars. A4's look much better and you'll save more like 3g's if you buy a Jetta.

The handling is 100 times better than the TL and the build quality is incredible. I haven't had any rattles or squeeks, and not to mention the free scheduled maintenance including brake pads. I couldn't wait any longer to see the 04 TL so I had to make a choice and the A4 is by far the best alternative at this point in time.
I have to disagree on that one. I had a '96 A4 and when I decided to buy a new car, I went straight to the Audi dealership to check out the new model. The best things I can say about it:

- exterior styling is beautiful, very classy, makes TL look like crap.
- fit and finish is the best of seen in the price range.

Then I test drove it. The CVT has an annoying delay from a dead stop. When you step on the gas, it takes about half a second before the car gets moving. I know that's just how CVT's are, but I hate crappy throttle response, and that turned me off. Secondly, although the interior is supposed to be bigger than the previous model, it felt smaller, and I didn't think it was as well designed as the previous model.

Then I went to Acura, and fell in love with the TL-S. Audi makes a great car, but cannot compete with Acura's bang for the buck. Save for the two positive points I gave to Audi, almost everything else was better on the TL-S... even though it's an older to-be-redesigned model.

See than again we go back to a german car.. I love them, handling, looks, and little features and luxury but I heard there electronics and etc go bad and make you pull out your wallet in no time.. So Since German cars are so high maintenance I tend to stay away from them.. And most of them are quite expensive..

I actually would buy the 330i but its out of my range.. the 325 well its just slow.. I like the way the 330i looks over the TL but the TL has more Bang for the Buck and I am waiting for the new restyled model..
Any other cars I should be considering except 2004 TL and G35?

I hope they redesign the tranny for the 2004TL coz after the hell I went through with mine I will never buy another Honda V6 vehicle with an automatic tranny ever again.

The best for you is a Audi A4 turbo with alll wheel drive. The car is very nice, looks better than the bmw, TL or G35 inside. and you can do all kinds of modifications on the engine.

I dont mind the A4.. its pretty nice.. But its smaller and slower than the current TL and slower than the 2004 TL.. It also doesnt feature Intelligent Cruise control which will be on the 2004 TL.. I just gotta wait for the 2004 TL to compare..

I would take the 3.0 if thats what your talking about, as it is longer and has more room.. Isnt it the same thing as a Passat?

3.0 is the same as the 1.8T just different engine. BTW the 2004 A4 1.8T should have a 190hp base engine with 6sp manual. With little mods you can make the 1.8T up to par if not faster than a G35 sedan and you will have the great Quattro.

3.0 is the same size as the 1.8T... they are both the same car just different engines.

If you plan on modding, then the 1.8T is much more moddable. However it's still going to be smaller than the TL. It's also comparably for the size.. much heavier. Considering the A4 is only a compact car, and weighs 3700 lbs, it's insane. The TL weighs less than that, making even THAT more tossable (for a big car).

A4 has benefits but personally I'd take the TL over it.. AWD is more limiting to me than fun. Granted some people enjoy the all-weather safety and extra ability to 'push it'.. but honestly in bad weather I drive carefully and more slowly. Just because you get an advantage because it's snowing doesn't mean I'd go do something like it was dry out. That's why AWD does not benefit me personally... sometimes you want to *cough* lose traction

Nope. Skyline runs around 70 grand US.. it's not in the states at all, though there have been some imported. Also the Skyline is an AWD car, with a very advanced computer system in it. The G35 may use the same engine/platform, but it's not CLOSE to the same car.

A 1.8T A4 weighs about the same as a TL. The A4 is built much better than a TL too.

oh and.......Quattro=5000K rpm launches. :wow:

I got an A4 without quattro because I have no need for all wheel drive in Arizona. As for the delay in the CVT, it fades as the car breaks in and it learns your driving habits. On top of that, the chips solves any other problems with the delay.

No doubt about that, it has a much better interior than probably ANY car.

However, if I was going with the A4 I'd also go with the FWD CVT version over the AWD... I can ditch the weightgain and still have a blast

then a jetta or a passat is a more logical choice~

I tested the 1.8T since it was comparable price wise to the TL. I heard the 3.0 has less tranny delay on the CVT, but was out of my price range.

I'd get it in a heartbeat, but it's just too much money for too little car

It handles great, but for 40 grand I can't afford it. 35 grand, then maybe .. 30 grand and it's a steal!

The new 330i will come out soon with added HP and I could get the old one a lot cheaper but I just dont think buying a old model for over $30k is worth it.. Its like buying a 2001 car for $35k. If your in the market for a new car than get a new top of the line car dont get the old model specially if your paying so much..
