I paid $180 from tirerack a few months ago. $15 to mount/align @ dealer.

Dealer price for tire I can't remember exactly, but it was outrageous, well above $250.

Call around to the Independent tire dealers. Sam's club is the cheapest $139.99. I did not buy it from Sam's. I paid $160 in KC incl balance and mounting.

Shop around...

Definitely look around at the local tire retailers. The dealers will rip you off on tires. Just get the measurements from your manual and call them for a quote. Saved about $100 on each tire when I shopped at Mavis instead of the dealer for my '99. Ended up with Yoko's instead of the Michelin's.

if your record is clean and you don't have any/many losses and your deductible is low, you can try and claim comprehensive (vandalism falls into this area) without adversely affecting your rates. you can either take that money and get new tires or an entirely new wheel/tire combo.

Why get the same tires???I hear aftermarket ones are better, plus you get more options if you're going for rims also.

Can you tell wich are better? My main concern about choosing new tires is road noise & confort. B/c only 75% of the time spent in the TL-S is with wife and kids, so the remainder 25% is for handling & performance (alone in car).

I have 42 000 km so far, and stock tires are starting to wear off.

Tirerack best seller is Dunlop Sports A2, about $80 a piece, it was out of stock last week. I am getting those for my TL replacement tires. It's got excellent reviews.

OEM tires are too expensive.

Actually the Dunlop Sports A2 is 106$ for our 215/50HR17.
It is true that it scores the highest score on almost every aspect.
Looks really interesting. But it is an HR rated, not VR.

What is the speed limit or "H" rated tires?
