Unhappy Tires for S

my tires seem to slip while taking turns around 80. Anyone know any good tires to prevent this.

I was thinking Bridgestone S-03 tires.

What about Michelin Pilot Sports. They are more expensive so should be better. No?

The Pilots are just a bit better in the dry--but once it rains, they tend to fall apart (in handling) a lot me then the Pole Positions (Bridgestone S-02/S-03). Lately, Michelin has a different tread design, similar to the Bridgestone (3 circumferential tread bands) so they are a bit better then in the past.
If it rains where you live, S-03 might be the better tire...the sports are good for San Diego-type weather.

Daimler560 - really... you think so?? I obviously drive a little slower in the rain vs. when it's dry... however, I never noticed any problems with traction when taking tight turns or anything.....

tirerack has the SP9000 for $108 in 215/50/17

Also, the firestone firehawk SZ50 is really just a rebadged S02 but cheaper (read the sidewall - Made In Japan - there are no Firestone plants in Japan).

I'm getting the SP9000's on Monday and if they're anything like the SP8000's on my A4, I'm sure they'll be excellent.

I have Dunlop SP Sport 5000s on my TL-S rims. I have found that they have excellent dry traction that is dimished very little in the rain. I was looking for a performance tire that could perform well in both conditions, and this tire has. They are slightly cheaper than the Pilot Sport A/S and, in the standard TL-S rim size, are much easier to find, as I found when I decided to replace my stock tires.

Are they less noisy than the stocks?

Junior--Although the cheaper Pilots do just fine in wet, the pricy sports did fall apart in wet. It's a tradeoff really--Personally, I like the sports more (as the risk of rain in San Diego is very low) but in reality, I take my car everywhere, so that's not really feasible...

The Dunlops are MUCH quieter than stock. The only time I hear much tire noise is on concrete roads and bridges.

I have Dunlop SP 5000 too. They are great tires. I paid 190$CAD each installed. Despite their 215/50VR17, they seem to be larger than stock Michelin. So they stick more to the road with less noise.

Wonder why stock Michelins are so EXPENSIVE (300$CAD).

The Michelin tires that came on here just dont grip enough. I looking at Tire Rack for the best rated tire and something that will stick to the road

I think more important is slower down while making turns. Making turns with 80 MPH... don't you think a bit fast?
