Tires

Ive been reading about tires and i kno the stock TL-S tires are 215/50/17 rite? If you upgraded to 225/45/17 would that improve handlin and all that and not screw things up or do i need to go w/ a different spec

ya i have 225/45/17 Yoko es-100's and their pretty good. the speedo is off(lower) by 2mph at 65. they look great and have good wet and dry ratings. I really like the contact strip that runs staight down the middle of the tire.

and they are a bit stiffer

The oem rim width for the TL-S is 6.5", and most 225/45/17 tires require a 7" minimum rim width. Should also buy a wider aftermarket rims just to be safe.

Below is a link to ES100 recommended rim size for your reference :

The kind of tire would be key to improving handling. If you get a soft tire then it probably won't help. If you get a performance tire then yes. You could even get a performance tire in 215/50/17 and it would improve handling.

regardless to 16 or 17... make sure you check out the Potenza by Bridgestones. They are awesome! They are racing/street type of tires.... Look for the RE750.

a 225 or a 235, would be your best bet . the 225's fit perfectly on the stock rim

The 235's fit the stock rim also, and no significant speedo change (.5mph at 100mph) No rubbing and no issues.
