Question TIRES!!

OK. I am looking for a good set of tires that are under $200 preferably. So far I have found

-Kumho ECSTA Supra for $123
-Yokohama Parada Asymmetric for $138
-BFGoodrich Comp T/A ZR for $160
-Nitto NT 555 for $186

Which do you guys recommend? I have always had good experience with NITTO's, like you are on rails. Others I have no idea. Tell me what you guys think. Also any others that I may have missed

What category?

I've decide on the Bridgestone RE-730's as well as a couple other members if you want Ultra-High Performance. Not sure about Max performance.

Question

What's the best tire size to put on a TL for performance reasons? 17?

Think 215/45/17 are the right size to keep it the same over all height.

for 17 inch tires, its either a 215/50/17 or 225/45/17 gives you the best overal diameter without rubbing...Trust me on this!!!

17's are a good size rim to go with the TL... Why do you think they put them on the TL-S... My ride is sittin clean on some Nitto Extreme 450's, it's V rated tire with 300 treadwear traction A temperature A(225/50/17)... The traction with 225's is unbelievable!!! All for $129 a tire... That's a great deal because seriously who is going to drive 149+ miles per hour??? All these Z rated tires are great if youre pushin something that really needs it, Corvette, Porsche, etc...

Shyne--Open 24-7 lika damn 7-11 ...

BTW, 215/50/17 or 225/50/17 come the closest to +-1 mph on your speedometer... 45's are way off, not really but they are...

I also vote for the RE730 tires. Tire Rack, and other shops rate it as a Ultra High Perforamcne tire. Anyway, I got these tires by accident, or circumstanace, and I'm gald I did. I had the Nitto NT450s right before this set, and they were teh worse tires I have ever owned. It was OK, or had good traction in the dry, but as soon as it would rain, my car would slide all over the place. Maybe it was because I had them on my Legend that is about 3750+ lbs, but they did not work at all for me. I know of at least 5 other Legend owners who also had trouble with wet traction when they had the NT450s on their cars. Back to the RE730s. I have used BF Goodrich Comp TA/ZR, Pirelli P700Z (NOT 7000), and Toyo Proxes T1 plus. The RE 730 has as much grip as the BFGs, and Toyos, maybe a bit less, and has excellent wet traction (had them for only abouyt 15K miles so far) but last a lot longer then the other tires, and cost much cheaper. I was worried about this 300 rated tread wear tire that was so cheap, but am very pleased . I ordered anther set of RE 730s for my other 17" rims.

RE-730s are great. Don't forget the Toyo T1S Proxies -- they are great. Need to shop around to get a real good price.

I am seriously considering BFG g-force T/A KDWS tires. They have sidewall stabilizers that "resist deflection and generate breathtaking cornering force." They also have g-force T/A KDW tires that aren't rated for snow while the KDWS is for snow also. From what I can tell, they rock, last long, and are inexpensive.

Oh yeah, they are Ultra High Performance.

My width on the NT450s were 215/45/17. If they work for you, and your driving style, then good, no problems. They haven't worked for many other people though. Just look on every car board out there, and there will all have similar topics on the NT 450s. While in each of those same topics there are maybe up to 1/3 of the people who like the NT450s, and have had no problems with it. Th eother 2/3s of the people have used much better tires before, and would never use the NT450s again. If you are having no problems, then good. You should not have to worry.
