Tire Problems. Any advice???

I have an 02 TLS, and I love the car, but I have been having one MAJOR problem with tires.

After about 16000 miles, the stock front right tire developed a massive bubble in the sidewall. I drive a lot for work, and the last thing I want is a huge bubble while I'm driving, so I just decided to replace all 4 tires (hated the stock tires btw) with a set of 225/45/17 Mich. Pilot Sport A/S.

These new tires are GREAT. But I'm 3000 miles into this tires, and the front right tire AGAIN has a sidewall bubble.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Is this just coincidence . . or is there something wrong my car? I gotta tell you, it really sucks.

I am surely going to do that. What I was wondering . . do you think this is a defect with my car/wheels . . or just a coincidental tire problem?

No its just a coincidental tire problem. I recently had the same problem. The front right right had a small bubble on the inside wall. I took it to Acura and they told me they didn't cover tires. So I took it to Sears. I drove the car into the garage and they let me look at the tire. The rim was scratched from the inside, so they told me Michelin wouldn't cover it since it was my fault. So I took it to a family mechanic and the bad tire switched to a good rim and a good tire switched to the bad rim. So this time I brought it to ETD and told them I rotated my tires and noticed a bubble. So they checked it out and could tell if it was my fault. So Michelin is allowed to give you something called GOODWILL were they will discount the price of the tire. I got the stock tire for $75. That is better than paying the $190 for them.

I hope this helps and saves you some money because it saved me a bunch.

acura won't hear it so just swap them all out slowly. i got a bubble too a month after buying the car and ended up going to america's tires and getting a replacement for half price. if you like these tires and don't see upgrading rims and tires later, you should consider going with a road hazard warranty. america's tires has it, and if they ever stop making this model (please?!?!? ), they will probably step you up to something else!!!

Here is the interesting update

Just got a new tire to replace the bubbled tire. The VERY NEXT DAY (today) I realized that it bubbled again in the sidewall. What the heck is wrong with my wheel? 1 day and another bubble?

sigh, getting tired of this. =(

For the dollar for your money, get the Sumitumo's from tirerack.com. I just had those put on and they're a lot quieter and smoother than the stock Michelins. The dollar for your money!!!! $89 a tire vs $175 a tire!!!!

I just had to replace a tire today because I ran over a huge pot hole, and it caused a big, fat bubble. I guess I'm lucky that it didn't bend the rim. Anyways, I went with a pair of Sumitumo's, and they seem pretty good. I agree that they are quieter, and the ride seems smoother. The stock tires are definitely pretty crappy after 43k miles...can't handle any turns without squealing anymore.
