Tire pressure question

should the front wheels have less or more pressure than the back wheels or should they be the same, i know the less pressure in the front the less you feel a bump.....

It depends. Do you want extended tire wear or handling? Personally, I like 35 p.s.i. all around... it's kind of like golf: for most weekend duffers, K-mart balls or Titliest Balata will not make a difference. It's the same with air pressure; you can't/shouldn't drive aggressively enough to know the difference.

That would come down to a comfortable ride versus more protection for your rims from pot-holes etc....

On my current car I have the pressure up about 6 lbs. each tire. So far these tires have lasted 7 years and 55k miles. Mileage has gone up (less rolling resistance) and they are wearing just as evely as I could hope for. But that's on a 94' Talon with Goodyear RSA's replacing the stock Goodyear GT+4's.

yo on the front tires, on stock '00 rims, i had it at about 40psi and it was way too harsh on bumps, so as of now i've dropped it to 37psi.......b4 i had it at around 30psi on the front and it was swishy on sharp turns

Biasing the front to rear tire pressures will effect the handling state. Lower front tire pressures will increase the natural understeering tendency of front wheel drive cars. That's going to make it handle more like your grandmother's Buick in corners. The car will tend to just plow forward when pushed.

You may or may not like those consequences. For a more neutral handling state, I would put 2 lb MORE in the fronts.

I fully agree with Sparky. To compensate for our car's natural tendency to understeer, you want to increase the front pressure relative to rear. This also helps with the additional weight on the front end of a FWD vehicle. I'll run 2-4 PSI spread depending on what type of driving I'm doing.
