i have never noticed that. but the defroster should not get hot enough to do any damage to the tint. the tint can withstand some high temps.

It shouldn't burn the tint. However, with poorer quality tint jobs, over time you can start to get air bubbles and pockets forming around the defroster lines. The heat from the defroster causes any residual air pockets to expand and cause the larger, visible air bubbles/pockets. Usually this is caused by the tint installer not getting as much air out from the between the tint film and window as possible (i.e. a bad tint job).

A good tint shop will offer a lifetime warranty on their tint work, and will re-do the back window if that happens.

it wont do anything but...

ya but it will definetely slow down the process in defrosting though.... depends on the quality and % of tint.. i had limo tints on both my cars (including my TL) and it sucks cuz it doesn't defrost it as fast as it used too.. takes a lil longer... maybe a minute i would say...

and my tints are life time.. never fades or turns into that nasty purple stuff... also reflects heat by like 90% (other tints CLAIM to do this but these tints actually achieve results.... demo proven @ dealer) , so ya.. they are called RADIANT tints but maybe thats just the brand name....so this would explain y my defroster takes longer since the damn tints are actually rejecting the heat......

its good to have these tints on very hot summer days where u dont need to use ur AC as much since it keeps the cool air in and the hot air out.

yes, it's true that the tint slows down the defroster for the rear window. mines take forever to clear up when i got my tints put on and it's limo also.
