02 TLS SSM - Hi Oh Silvr!
Some little old lady
Wow - I didn't think little old ladies drove that much. Must have been a big church goer. Or maybe she has a gambling problem.
I think there are a few ways you can check the belt. The first is a visual inspection. Check for cracks, wear, and age. Second, take it to a dealer and ask them to check the Acura records for whether this service was done and what if any other service was performed.

Burning Brakes
If you can’t find any records from the Acura dealership, just do the “safe then sorry” method and have it replace. A couple hundred bucks are going to be cheaper then a busted up engine if it timing belt breaks.

Take a look at the serpentine belts. If they look newer, then hopefully the timing was changed. If the mechanic suggested her to do the timing belt, do you think the mechanic would ignore the serpentine belts?
