Those silly HIDs
Those silly HIDs
Well, changing the damn HIDs didn't exactly go as planned. How the heck do you get that metal bar back in place? Is the size on the top screw for that metal bar 4x10? Hole is stripped and I have to go a size bigger.
Almost seems easier to just yank the bumper off and rip the entire assembly out. Old bulb broke trying to remove it....don't want to destroy the brand new bulb.

1 hour 45 mins searching the site with every term imaginable.....found out that the metal clip doesn't need to be removed by unscrewing those screws....it just unclips down and to the left from the bottom, which lets you pull the bulb out.

damn! that sux i know exactly how u feel...it happened to me too...i took off the metal and ended up taking apart my whole front end...and taking off the headlights..it was much easier and not so frustrating...plus its pretty cool to see ur self taking ur front end apart like if they stole ur car and striped it ...good luck just take it apart...bumper..then the metal bar then the headlights...fairly easy
What you need to do is to screw the screw with the metal clip back on first. Once the metal clip already screw on, insert the new bulb in then bend the clip down so that it can hold the bulb. Don't try to put the clip on with the new bulb while trying to screw the screw on. It will take forever to put them on that way.
Well, the first new bulb went back in alright after I changed to a larger screw to hold the metal clip in place. On the second, the plastic lip that holds the metal clip in place snapped off.
What's the part number for that gray plastic housing? I tried to find it on acuraoemparts.com but I think it's just part of the headlight assembly housing.
