To Those with CT Headers Installed

To those with CT Headers installed. Do you hear any whistling or turbulent airflow noises? I just got mine installed today, and when I rev the engine, you hear this sort of whistling or rattling noise from turbulent air flow? My mechanic told me that it was due to the header design, where both headers empty into the same downpipe chamber, whereas the stock ones empty into 2 different chambers, and then merge into one pipe. My mechanic checked for exhaust leaks, but found none.

I can't say I heard a rattling or whistling noise. I did have a stronger than normal smell of exhaust fumes for a little while. But that faded after a couple of days. I really don't think you should be hearing anything. Maybe a somewhat louder rumble at idle but thats about it.

There's no sound at idle. Sounds exactly like stock. However, when I rev it, there seems to be this air-sucking noise or turbulent air-flow noise. When you rev your car with headers on, is there a difference in sound between stock and when headers were installed?

T.O. Accord,

Where did you get your CT headers from? Locally or through mail order?

Also which shop did the install..

I might be considering these in the future ... so I am just scoping for good mechanics etc.

I got it off a friend who sold his CL-S. He bought it directly from Comptech which cost him about $2200 after all taxes, duties, customs, etc.
If you need the shop, PM me, I can give you a name and number anytime. They do great work(except for this header thing which I'm still trying to figure out) and are very nice bunch of guys.
Back to the original question. Anyone?

I get induction noise from the AEM CAI but I don't think any other appriciable noise from the headers. I had the CAI for a few months before the headers were installed.

No noises here

The only noise that i hear is when the engine tach needle
sweeps past 4000 rpm then the engine starts to sound
throaty and it starts wailing all the way to the redline.

Maybe something is loose cause CT recommends checking
on the bolts a couple days after the install.
