What do you mean take a chance ? Do you mean removing these mods ? Your tranny most likely needs to be replaced because it is one of the faulty units. Because of this I do not think they will give you a hard time. Remember the dealership gets paid a lot by Acura to do this work, it is in their best interest to change your tranny.

You may have hidden the V-AFC visually, but all the dealer has to do is plug into your ECU. The evidence that you have it is there, not so much visual. you could go back to factory specs if you felt the need, then tune it again after the new tranny is installed. This is why I got the harness from Frog Engine Controls. I can if needed, unplug and get to factory specs.
As far as this goes relating to your tranny, it should not influence the replacement. There is plenty of documentation of trannys blowing.

yo!! where do i get that??

this is wat i think.........they'll fix the tranny and have the battery off...........so i think later that day when they reconnect, the v-afc might restart and start the initializing.............what if they just turn the motor on without doing it?? wont that mess up my engine...cause ihave it hidden in my glove box...............

In both instances my clock and radio presets were reset, so they definately disconnected the battery. Your system does not reset itself ? If not then you have to tell them or they will never know what is wrong with your car.

the v-afc remembers your settings. i have had audio work done and when the reconnected the battery, all was good. look for jaker over at www.acura-cl.com. the cost was $170 including shipping. you must send him the harness though. this might be difficult for you since you have the v-afc presently installed. personally, i would not consider having the v-afc in the glove box really well hidden. One justs opens the door and there it is. it is a convenient location though, i have my controller there also.
