Thinking of buying a 2G TL??
Hey it's my first post here so I'm sorry if I break any rules on accident. I'm about to buy a Acura TL for 500$. The car has a rebuilt tranny and new pads and rotors it's has 260 000kms. It needs brake lines and a new e brake I believe, when I went to go check it out the SRS light was one and he was telling me that fucked up installing the idle control valve. Idk how. He told me to reset the ecu. As a student that's on the broke life is this car for me? I love how it looks and it would be really cool to grab.

Car has known transmission issues and with low budget is a "RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN"..
For the car to viable you must replace the glass transmission with a Swap of a modern trans and that can hover around 1-2K $$$$.
That is my 2c.

Better to save up more money to buy a well taken care of Type S if you wanted to get a 2G TL. Even with higher mileage if it's been maintained properly it will still run like a fine clock and is still pretty quick for the price. Don't buy a beater TL, repairs are too expensive.

I'm not on a budget at all so when I saw this turd I thought it would be a fun project, I bought mine for $500 as well. I'm about $750 into it now and have fixed everything myself, now just cruising around waiting on the trans to go one day. If you can do repairs yourself, I'd say go for it. The most common issues are very cheap and easy to fix minus replacing the trans.
