Thinking about CAI

I'm thinking about getting one of those CAI's for my 2003 TL-S, and i searched for threads about these, and have been looking at the InJen one on the site, but i don't want to make my car sound like complete crap if i do install one. . . And i'm kinda worried about needing a bypass valve for it. If there were any for sale on the site, i didn't see them, but i'm blind too. hehe.

Does anybody have an almost stock TL w/ just a CAI that could post or send a sound clip or something like that?
I wouldn't mind if it just made my engine sound a little louder and have a little more of that clean high rev noise, but i don't want one of those fart noises, or bumblebee on steriods kind of stuff. . .

Or does the CAI even make a difference in the way your engine sounds?
Any help's appreciated. thanks.

I think the noise your thinking of is from the exhaust. The only sound the CAI has is a slight hummm from the engine, but nothing too noticable. You do hear it roar when the RPM is over 4000. The CAI was the first thing I got because I figured it helps the engine breath easier and was the easiest mod to do. DEFINITELY get a by-pass valve! I was lucky I had one last week when my area flooded!
My suggestion is to get it!

hey V 526 try this first if you like. just remove the stock air intake resonator. It's a plastic box which sits below the air filter box,Its basicly a muffler for the intake, Ive done mine already and it sound good, from what i hear it sounds very simular to a CAI. romoving that combined W/a high flow air filter drop in(K&N) will produce a slight gain comperable to a CAI

Do it!
I got an Injen CAI a year ago. So far, it is my only "invasive" mod- others are purely cosmetic. The noise at idle with the A/C on is mildly annoying, kinda like a noisy belt hissing or something. However, any doubt is erased when I hit Vtec. It sounds great. I want to comlete it with headers and exhaust, but just haven't scratched up the cash yet. I have a bypass valve and I don't regret it. Haven't needed it, thankfully!
Again, get it. You'll be pleased.
