Sooooo I have not seen a TL with it (and hope to never see one), but I did see the new 4 door accord this morning: Bronze color with the darker brown vinyl top... Oh Gawd!!!!! Hideous... you know the one that comes up to three quarters of the roofline.... Disgusting. But that is my opinion, of course.

 

DISAGREE... CF hoods would look amazing in black, silver and maibe blur or dark blue TLs... the dud with the white TL and CF hood F'd up...see, that was descusting. silver and darker would look amazing.

I think the brake calipers painted look cool, not the rotors though.... I like the mesh on the cars... the grill might look funny on the 02-03 because the opening is bigger, but the bottom part looks cool...

You should not put any rim larger than 19" on your car...
No stupid ass emblems and stickers...
No sorona kits...
No neon lights
No seat covers...

Your the only one who has ever dissed it, and I know plenty of people who have the balls to tell me if it looked horrible or not.
It beats spending tons of money for something that looks the same, when I can make it myself.
I've never seen anyone else with an '02 with this grill.
Please don't reply saying "that's because it's ugly".
And as far as cutting my grill, it's not going to happen but, I am thinking about changing it though. I might paint the black (gray) plastic part of the oem grill to match the car and cut the mesh for the top and bottom openings above and below the "A" emblem.

 

props man, that looks unique as hell. i think the grille contrasts ur body color perfectly, and you should keep it just the way it is, but its ur car . i havent seen any other 02+ w/ a modded grille except the Saber grille. well done!

 

I think the mesh grilles can look quite classy when done properly. Although I think the 99-01 TL's look better with them, I think the 02-03 can also look fine.

Pistachio, something about your grille on your car seems funny. I'm not sure exactly what it needs, but I think that overall, it DOES look good.

Here's my list, which pretty much reiterates what others have said:

1. +19" rims on TL's do not look good. I'm sorry. Wish they did.
2. Large wings.
3. Excessive mesh, as with the Sarona kit - IMO
4. Neon on exterior - too ricey
5. Hydraulics ( Hey, just in case somebody is cracked out)
6. Chrome w/ wrong color of car
7. Mirror tint on almost any color of car - must be used with caution
8. Large graphics and stickers
9. The B.S. stickers such as Type R, etc. - This one never fails too crack me up when on the
road I see 'em on random cars.

 

Since you brought Type R Stickers up.... and if anybody out there is over at Purdue...

There is a red Chevy Lumina around here with not only type R stickers, but also VTEC on the back

 

LOL that reminds me, i saw a Galant w/ VTEC badges on either side, along with a NOS sticker on the back windows.

I have underbody neons and I don't think that's ricey... although it also depends on the color you get and the color of you car. Also, what is so ricey about the JDM conversion? I know a lot of people have done it. And... what is the big deal about mirror tinting? Can someone post a pic of this? I seriously don't see what's ricey about it... do they mean the side mirrors or what?

Finally, I think the funniest was changing the TL-P to TL-S! Hahahaha... :P

Maybe its because the colors don't match up at all or because it just looks bad. I give you credit for the originality but, would you call me original if i painted my car apple-green, put 22" spinners, a 22ft wing and red tints or would you curse the living **** outa me?

The reason why he put "Tinted Mirror" there was a safety issue not a matter of ricyness.

Seriously, you will more likely get into an accedent with tinted mirrors.

 

Maybe mirror tints is the wrong word for them, or maybe you have just been fortunate enough not to see somebody try it on a sedan. But it's the tint where the top of windows looks like a mirror and then it fades into a solid black tint further down.

 

That's alright, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I wasn't reacting to it harshly, I just wanted to state my case. No harm done. We are all friends here.

Youre saying that chrome rims should not go on a TL because they are ugly or because you think TL's are Professional Touring vehicles that only use 18" alloy wheels for when we take it to a sport compact car professional track or take it drifting or whatever you think the TL is made for? Dude the TL is not just a fast car it's a "near-luxury" fast car which means chrome rims, 19" or 18", look great on a classy car that when you start adding these 5' wings and vynyl stickers and hood scoops and hydraulics and all the crap that makes youre stomach turn when you see a beautiful car, turn into shit, that's not cool!

But that's just my two cents...oh and by the way the only thing I like about that riced out blue TL was the chicks with the fat asses! Love Ya!

Yep, that's what I was referring to. I've seen many TL's with 19's and they look pretty damn sweet. Just referring to anything larger.

Yeah, the plastic part of the grill can be seperated from the chrome trim piece and "A" emblem. Thanks for your criticism, because I was trying to make up my mind on wether I should change it. I'm going to have the gray plastic part painted to match the car, then I'm going to set the grill back so it is just covering the top and botom openings above and below the "A",like this-(this is not my car)

Dont put the mesh in the back of the grill like that... Do what you did with yours, exept take out the "----A----" part and just put the mesh grill back... do you understand? and then if you want, put the A on top and have a mugen-looking grille with the A on top like DJ's...and mine.
