Cool

I think you should either do a search on here (plenty of info), or go to www.is300.net !!

Nice first post! Unforunately the IS300 is not too well liked here. I personally think that the manual version is only why to go with that car. Its actually a pretty good value, rear-wheel drive, independent double wishbones, limited slip differential, 17" rims, 3" exhaust, tight styling and the originator of the often-imitated clear glass taillights. The main downpoints - Too SLOW, cheap feeling cockpit for the money spent on the upgrade packages.

This is the wrong place to ask about that car. Too many haters out there, myself included.

IS300 is cool. Handles well, it's a Toyota, so it will most likely be rather reliable. Nice body style. Nice stock rims.

Down side is that the Jap grille is better. The whole tach thing is kind of cheesey. Crappy tip for the stock exhuast.

ok let me say my piece...IMHO....why is it that acura owners think that their car is so great ...to each his own!!!!!the is300 and the acura should not be mentioned in the same sentence.....RWD versus FWD....great handling versus ok handling for the acura...bland styling for the acura versus a somewhat unique look in the is300 even though it loks like a civic on steroids....1s300:215 horses verses the acura@225......is300 stronger5th gear versus the acura......acura interior more luxury oriented versus the is300's more sporty interior.....is300no overhang versus the acuras medium to large overhang....(note that my wife has a 2000 acura tl so i have plenty of experience driving this car)to make a long story short the is300 is my "fun' car while the wife drives the more boring acura TL...this is MY opinion ...not an attempt to create a flame...i think that i'm qualified to post this cuz i own both cars .....oh i'm 30years old and can still appreciate a well balanced car(the is300)

Wow, that's a great question!! I think the IS300 is the coolest car on the planet. I'd trade my TL in right now and get one if my TL wasn' such a POS. It looks really great and has a nifty engine. And those tails, woo-hoo, I LOVE them tails. Ant the best thing is that you are guaranteed to get laid if you own one. BTW, this is www.acura-tl.com.

I can't agree with is300 more......

I think there's one thing that the is300 and the TL have in common and that is they are both great values. But with the TL, I think you scarfice the quality somehow. And the IS300 is some what cheap IMHO

I am still willing to pay more for the Bimmer just for those extra stuff you get for examples.

1.No auto-dim mirror on the IS300

2.No VSC yet, and it will not be avaliable on the 5 speed.

3.It is still somewhat underpowered and I don't know if it's because the auto tranny that sucks or it's just their drivetrain. We will see when the 5 speed comes out

4.I like the multi-function steering wheel that they have on the Bimmer, Mercedes, and Volvo.

Of course, the navi is coming as well as full leather.......

But here is just my 2 cents..

No navi, and get behind one when it floors it. You'll wonder who cut the cheese, or better yet go test drive one w/ the windows down and you'll know what I mean.

Different strokes for different folks.
Apparently you think IS is better than TL. Maybe. The two cars are made for different purposes. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
You can say all the great things about IS and we'll say all the great things about TL and minimize anything that's we don't like about it.

If you want to hears something good about IS, ( u apparently only want to hear good things about IS) GO TO www.IS300.net.
There I gave you a link. In case you are lazy.

If you want to know CONS, do the search we have said plenty of htings

i think you did it now buddy, is 300, this is a forum bout tl, maybe some will hate the is300, maybe some wont, but please dont even try to compare the 2, i feel the tl, is personally the best around this price, i dont know bout the is300 and its rwd, if you live on the northeastern, its like the weather vs. the rwd cars, but with all the fwd, we all just have fun all weather
on top of all this since your wife drives the tl, shes probaly sittin there liking the tl more than the is300, vice versa wid you, once you get comfortable wid any car youd rather go wid the pros, than the cons.
p.s. better start runnin cuz the hardcore tl fanatics if they see this just a lil sneak preview

For a sporty 4-door I'd have to go with a BMW 3-series instead. However, I wanted a more plush and larger car, so I got a TL. I also think the IS300 has a cheap, plasticky interior. It does handle and brake nicely though, and the straight 6 revs like buttah!

I test drove the IS and just liked the TL more, but both are great. Very different, though - I don't understand why their owners get so pissy at each other. The TL is more like an ES300, and the IS300 more like a 325i / Jetta / A4. I thought it was a Jetta the first time I saw one from the side.

If I wasn't so cheap I'd be driving a 540i or GS430...

I have nothing against the IS. BMW set a standard with the 3 series, and everyone seem's to be just short of meeting the standards, like the IS300. Same thing goes for the Lincoln LS V-6 or V-8 for the matter...You think I would prefer a Lincoln over a 5 series? I think not! Same thing goes for the 3 series BMW. Hand me a 325, or even 330 in stick with the sports package, and I'm a happy camper..

Yeah, for the money for the IS, put out a little more and you can get a 3 Series. Well balanced car. The front wheels are right up against the front bumper like the IS300.
